Neikodog's 1st High Brix Multi-Strain

Oh it's going to happen. I put the call into platinum today just waiting for a call back. Curso said they are out of lights until the end of the month but that's ok because nothing will be ready for that much light by then.

Neiko, yes..

Just found your journal, Neiko. All caught up and sub'd.
Sounds like a bit of a rocky start but a big congrats on achieving liftoff.
You'll crush this!

Welcome 36Grow and Major PITA! It sure was a rocky start but it's looking up here. I'm still deciding on what else to put in there so I will have more to come. I germinated 3 more chocolopes, we'll see if any of these want to live. I also have some nice ACE seed strains in the mail.

Didn't I read you are in a 4x4 tent and planning on 10 gal. pots?
How will you manage all the different strains (especially sativas) in that space? It seems more like a one-plant grow with pots that size.

The 4 10 gallons will fit into the 4x4. I am going to keep the best 4 that are female. I also have a 3x3 that I can keep some vegging in. They are gorilla grow tents with the 1' extension so I can raise the lights up to about 8.5'. I may just run the 100% Sativas 11/13 right from seed. The Tangerine Dream finished at about 4.5' after 6 weeks veg time. I plan on tying them down as well.

OK guys and girls, can someone give me some input on one of my Tikals? The one on the left obviously has an issue, for comparison the one on the right sprouted one day later and looks good. Now today I saw for the first time 3 gnats. I haven't had any plants for about a month now. I cleaned the tent before putting any babies in it too. I had 0 gnats last grow, so I can only assume they came from my soil. I started cooking it on 12/6/14. The soil smells fresh like spring. It has been below zwro here for a while so the gnats didn't come form outside and I don't have them anywhere else in the house. Without further ado here they are:

In case someone asks the lights on temps are running about 76 degrees and the humidity has been running 35-47% depending on how cold it gets. Lights off it is around 70 degrees.

I have sprouts like that from time to time. Give it a couple weeks and it should straighten out. If not....cull.

Gnats! Damn.....

I recommend mosquito dunks in the water supply for the most natural, non-toxic method. Don't waste time with DE on top, or sand, or any of that. Get right on the mosquito dunks. They'll clear up soon enough.

For the next week or two, try to not let the top of the soil get most at all. Bottom water only. This will help kill the bastards.

Then, after the mosquito dunk has sat in your water supply for a week or two, top water with that. It's fine to just set aside 5 gallons of water and keep a dunk in it. Whatever you have to do.

Don't get too worried about the young one....they almost always straighten out.

I'm troubled to hear from a few people that Promix is now featuring gnats in their soil.....

Thanks Doc. I figured it would pull through because it is growing, getting bigger every time I look at it but it keeps getting uglier, It has been goofy since it sprouted. I know it wants to live, I would cull it now but those are the only 2 I have of that strain and they are standard seeds so if I cull it I know the other one will be male, that's just how it goes. Doc what is your thought on 100% neem oil for the gnats? What if I hit the soil with that? I only ask because the grow store dude sold me on it a while back and I never needed it.

I prefer to use the dunks. I've never drenched with neem before.
