I have 2 Early Miss Autos from Crop King in a 3X3X6 tent under a 300W Mars Hydro. They are getting 18hrs on/6hrs off. They are each in 2gal pots soft sided pots. One is 3" tall and the other is struggling to reach 1" (I started her in a Dixie cup w/slits cut for runoff. They are in coco/perlite and I've been giving them water w/CalMag, ph'd to 5.6. They were both planted about 7 days ago after sprouting via paper towel method (if that matters?). I've been afraid of over watering so a few times a day I water them, but not too much. After reading a few threads this morning I finally watered both of them until there was runoff (that hadn't happened yet). The bigger one is about 28" below my light. I have FloraNova grow & bloom nutes that I haven't used yet. Also bought a Vortex 6" fan w/speed control and charcoal filter that I haven't hung yet. I've got a small 6" fan indirectly blowing down on them right now. I did put a dryer hose in one of the top openings for circulation. Temp in the tent stays around 75 and humidity about 55%.
Now for the questions....
1-Is it time to start adding the grow nutes? If so, should I add this to my daily CalMag water jug so they get nutes/CalMag/Water every time or use separate jugs for the CalMag and nutes?
2-Do I need to water/feed them until there is runoff everytime? I'm afraid I'll drown them.
3-Is it time to start using the Vortex & filter yet?
4-How bad have I screwed this up already?
5-Do I need a humidifier?
6-Trying to help my wife w/her fibromyalgia but I'm just depressing her cause it seems like the girls ain't growing too good after spending quite a chunk of change to get started. Is there any hope???

Welcome to our little village :welcome:

There is always hope. Hope is what sustains us.

I recommend you start a new journal in "journals in progress" in the growing forum.

Pictures are golden when dealing with problems.

You can water a seedling too often in coco, but you can't water too much. Does that make sense? You must let the roots have a spell where they are almost dry.

You should always water till run off in coco. Not doing so can cause problems.

You can't screw anything up, because you are gaining knowledge. Knowledge is power, and applied knowledge is wisdom. None of us started knowing how to do this the best way, it takes time and practice. Just be easy on yourself, you are in the right place to get moving in the right direction.

If you start a grow journal, I'm sure you will be flooded with helpful people. We all strive to get someone else growing like a pro.

I advise to do that first. People watch for new journals. (put pictures in too......we all like to watch, and pictures tell a lot without typing.

She'll be 5 weeks old tomorrow and looking healthy I think! All advice and comments are MUCH appreciated.

Thanks for the advice. Have you had good results watering everyday? I ask because I've also been told to let them get a little dry so the roots will grow deeper.

Yes i water to waste every day And my plants look awesome. The roots will go deeper chasing water vs dry growing media. Think about it this way a deep water culture grow never dries out. The roots are always in water/nutrient solution.
