Natural Spirit's Multitasking Journal Of 2018

The bonus today? My seal machine was delivered! As of today I like to be called “fresh prince of the Dutch” ;)

A little more serious? Using This vacuum machine should extend the time by 3-4 times ive been Reading. Can anyone tell me If Thats true? My experience is 0 with This.

I love my vacuum sealer. Keeps the buds airtight and scent free. I can sill smell the herb when kept in jars or bags and are susceptible to humidity fluctuations unless accompanied by boveda packets. Once in the vacuum packs they are nearly perfectly preserved for a long time - I'm guessing a couple years but my own experience is only 3 months so far. It just so happened, we opened a 3 month old bag tonight - wow it smelled great and the buds were just right - not too dry not too moist.
I just made sure I gave them a good 4 - 5 week cure prior to bagging, but I've also heard buds continue to cure in the vacuun - even prefer an anaerobic environment.

I really should use the turkey bags for long term storage once the cure is done. You been using them for that @Pennywise?
I actually had a little issue with my turkey bags. They worked nice for curing, but a month later and after a relative dry spell my buds got a bit dry 49% and my boveda packets dried out pretty crisy (stored in my house in dark closet).

Certainly possible that I didn't do a good enough job sealing the bags and I only used about 6 of the small boveda packets in each bag - probably should have used larger packets.

Were they completely crushed? They'd have to be flat to really be anaerobic, no? I'd worry about knocking off the trichomes with the pressure of a vacuum seal. Is that a concern?
With my vacuum sealer I can control the amount of air removed. I only remove about 80% of the air so while the buds are "snug" they are zero crushed. The 2 ounces that were opened tonight had no noticeable crumbs 100% nugs.
Whether that is considered anaerobic or not, I'm not sure. That's why I cured them 4 - 5 weeks before sealing.

Vacced stuff for 5 years and was perfect but yeah stop before the crush.

What Beez said.

Little late with the response here guys, i felt off for a few days so i checked in with my phone a few times. Im kinda feeling better so back at the screen:high-five:

I like bags more than jars for curing

Could you tell me the differences you noticed? the shape of a jar is strong so i tought less chance of aqueezing the buds...

I do love the smell of Brooky burning in the morning. Great daytime chemovar:cough:

tbh, im digging the brooky in smoke, smell and smeffect:p she is doing great and if i can find some time i might snap a couple shots today:cheer:

Ok this is funny! When i bought it the tought was to store edibles and the tought of storing my buds didnt even cross my mind. There is so much things i'd like to explore in 2019:yahoo:

So how much boveda packages is everyone using? Mostly i use a 8 gram for a 420 jar... and burp the jars properly. not sure if thats the best way tough.

The 20-ish% air left probably helps cure the nug even more. Turkey bags is my new number one on the shopping list:thanks:

Ok so 2019 should become a really interesting year looking at my plans for the garden...

Yesterday i bought a Willow stem with a "catseye" grafted on top of it. Did i told you guys before i bought that grafting tool? It looks really cool and its time to see if it works as cool as it looks!

This is a quick snap i made of it. Yes it is bought and i went to a store to get a plant i am planning to put INSIDE my veg box. Already got some alarm bells ringing?:battingeyelashes:

So the plan:

One small mother "tree" with multiple strains grafted to the willow stem. Why? My grow space is limited, the "stealth" mode should stay active till legalizing, and this way i can clone my bud off:yahoo:

So will it work?
Ok this is a grey area... Yes grafting can work, but what will it do to the strains attatched, wil it fit on this tree and so and so... If i hear "thats something i would never do" its getting interesting to me. The first strain to be attatched? CBD Euphoria probably, as i have 3 clones.

Treatment of the Willow

Its bought at a commercial greenhouse(not sure how this is called) and therefore its a risk to put it inside, a big risk to be honest. Therefore i'd like your opinion how to treat her before introducing her to my precious baby's.

What ive done so far is treating the willow with H202 when i got home, in the shower. And them a decent neem spray. Something tells me i should soak her roots for a while, remove all medium(wash) and place it in my own medium.

Anything i am missing here?

Also i'm thinking to separate the cooking from the growing in two separate journals. Creating a space where its real easy to acces my personal recipe's and so.

And the personal side im waiting for the wheelchair, next week they should deliver it. Then its a matter of finding a suitable house, since a ramp wont fit in front of my door (its in a alley). It is stressfull to know i cant go out on my own for 6-12 months? but still i think a solution should come faster somehow.

Have a lovely weekend everyone and please do tell me your toughts as i am diving in blind-ish:thanks:

Check out what he did here, it will be far more educational than IG.

Well yeah thats absolutely true! Already been true a couple of pages and i love the fact he dived in cause he wanted to and learned as he went. Kinda what i'm doing here hehe.
Would you soak the roots and place it in my own medium before going into the veg box?

Yea that's not a bad idea I'd probably soak the roots too just in case.. you'll be smoking whatever grows off those branches and whatever is in the buds has been sucked up through the roots. If ya get what I'm trying to say lol.:p

Such a crazy idea buddy I like that you aren't afraid to try something like this.:green_heart:

You can yes

Ok ill be doing that tonight before she goes in:)

I do get it and i checked if they didnt put any chemical nutes in there, there is no way to be 100% sure but can we ever be? It's a way to expand my knowledge and work on the creative side of my brain. A pretty known neuro doc here had a nice vid explaining creativity works by killing pain. What better way to combine the meds by working out new idea's to grow our lovely medicine right?:Namaste:
