My Wild And Wacky 1st Grow Adventure

OK, so I had some interesting observations this morning. My little experiment is yielding some interesting results.

The seedling always grown under full spectrum has developed nicely and the quickest. However, the plant grown for the first 8 days under a 460nm blue led for 8 days and 8 days under a full spectrum led. Has seemed to want to retain a smaller inner nodal spacing as it continues to grow.

I 50/50 plant into a larger net pot and grow chamber. I had asked in the aeroponics forum if it was necessary or not. My thought is that the 2 inch clone collar won't be able to support a full size plant. The roots are already seeking to escape the 5.5 inch net pot.

I'll post some pictures and information about my upgrades later.

That said, here are the pics of the only full spectrum and the 50/50 that I took this morning. You can see a noticeable difference in the 2 plants structures.

Well, the new year started with a bit of a setback. When I checked on my babies this morning. Connor's leaves were dropping. Color still good but wilting a bit.

Yesterday I had transferred the other 2 plants into 5.5 inch net pots. Before, the roots were just dangling only supported by the clone collar. I was pretty sure that once the plants got big with weight. They would fall down into the root chamber.

Now that the roots didn't have unobstructed access to the nutrients fog. The roots right under the cloning collar took a hit. They are very thin and not bright white anymore.

I know that it will recover in a couple of days. But all of the plants have lost some growth time as they all need to recover root nutrients intake.

This has taught me to start off with the 5.5.5 inch net pots. And not transfer them into them later on.

I now feel confident enough to start germinating the last 4 Grape Ape seeds from Royal Queen that I had purchased. I spent the morning preparing 3 more root chambers. I just need more tubing and connectors for the misters.

Learning more and more each day. I also have what I believe will be the final design of my DIY grow lights.
