My Very First Grow & Journal - Vast & Fast - 400W MarsHydro - Soil - Tent

Looking good.

Yeah they are really starting to bug up now and they are starting to smell really nice @D.
Is it worth me cutting off the tiny buds near the bottom of the plant to give more energy to the top ones? they are autos and I'm not too sure?. I have read that you can and can't?.

I never cut leaves, I tried it last grow. The plants I trimmed were smaller then ones I did not. Just tuck leaves to allow light to hit them and they will swell.

Cheers

A couple of leaves at the bottom were yellow and more or less fell off but I'm not fussed about them, my next grow is not going to be autos not because I'm unhappy with them oh no well chuffed so far but I want to learn LST and topping and scrogging so I will go for a hardy plant next.
Making a mini tent as I type to get a small veg tent :D.
Living the whole experience never knew I had green fingers lol ;)

It takes your life over kinda like kids do, try not to get lost down the rabbit hole.

Cheers

Iam thinking of putting a clf light in also just to help them at this stage.
It is a red light one for blooming isn't it?.
2700k will work great. During flower I'll use 2700k up top and 5000k or 6500k down lower on plant. Look at my grows to see what I mean.

Cheers

heya monk,, lighting is only one confusing part of the operation,, it just gets more confusing from there,, but this knowledge is transferable to so many other things in life,, we is learning life here,, :cheertwo:

i think you want a green thumb,, green fingers means you are picking yer nose,, haha:cheesygrinsmiley::goof:

cheers monk,,, remember one thing,, cfl's aint cheap,, cheers

Okay due to an emergency at work I had to leave my babies all alone for 6 days I dreaded what I would find but after a good dose of nutes and watering (all as dry as a bone) they appear to be getting better.
They were getting too big for my tent so I have just tied them closeer together and m happy. Here they are.

Anyone got any thoughts on letting the whole plant dry out instead of cutting it down when ready?.
I found a thread on here saying it makes the weed better.

Plants look well, nice set of flowers in there.

Cheers.

Heya monk,, cheers to ya,, i have a thot or three, usually do, here goes, just one tho,,re,,letting the plant dry out,

If you mean leave the plant in the pot and just let it dry out and kinda, die, on the vine, so to speak,, first, the plant will overripen that way,, the week or even two that it would take to actually die, well, the plant keeps moving forward, and could overmature, maybe,

I watched a plant overripen just now cuz it had seeds in it, and it definately goes past mature,, trichomes kinda shrivel and go dark amber,, supposed to be less potent, I have read,, my thots anyway,, cheers monk

I think theres a few different schools of thought on this one, I effectively did this to some degree with my plants as I had to be away for the last 8 days of there life and they were past the point of rejuvenation when I got back so they got chopped. However it was still not at the point of the stems actually being dry and brittle while in the pot.

I have however been cutting the plants at the main stem and drying them as a whole plant to try and get a slower dry and avoid going past the point of cure as my nugs weren't very dense.

Looking nice though! Much frostier than my 2 Fast 2 Vast at a similar stage :bravo:

I have ordered a decent magnifier and I think I will just post on here pics to get an idea when I should crop them.
Cos I have no idea lol :D.
I really have winged it all not been scientific about it at all just sort of looked at my plants and added a dollop of nutes into the water if I think they are hungry.
I even ask them If they are hungry lol and I have a little weed plant voice going "Yes!" in my head.
My best tip is to sing to them as much as possible and now they are older I have classical playing in the room they are in.
Oh and cheers all for the tips and such.
Gonna be a shame though to butcher them :( I hope they don't scream :(.
:D

EEEKKKK!! :(

I hate my work I have had to go in for the last 4 nights and no one sang to my girls and this has happened :(

Looking at my chart is this a calcium def or a nitrogen? can I solve this?.

How far into flower? For week 6 or seven, it looks normal. For week 3, not so normal. If your talking about harvesting soon then your fine. I feed water only past day 57, or a true 6 weeks of flower. 1st 7 to 10 days are pre flower.

Cheers
