sorry folks no pics. pulled the small girl and trimmed, water and nutes for the ladies... 8 gallons. So I was tired from being up since 3:30am and just laid down to rest, f'ing power went out. Dang. So I Just thought, "chill it will be back on soon" and then I laid there eyes open going through all the problems of doing nothing. So I got up, started a candle. Found filled and started a hurricane lamp. Found the flashlight and went out and got the K1 for the heater, filled it, brought it up (hard on back) and started that. I had just enough time to do a victory bong on my ability to light and heat the house... and the f'ing power came back on
Man I am tired... no rest for the wicked, out of state job today so no pics today, maybe tonight if I have anything left

Good question.
Starts with smell, no plant gets pulled until she smells ripe. I know you know what I mean but for those new to growing as your plant matures the smell will change from hay/grass to whatever danker smell the finished buds should have. (smell depends on strain)
I don't look at tricomes, no point really, if I want zippy day meds I pull the plant early when the buds fill out and get frosty but have not stopped producing pistils and most or all are still white. For my needs "finished bud" is what I go for. This is when the bud has filled out like a pinecone and stopped most or all pistil production and I am in fear of bud rot. You can see in these shots that big girl has finished putting out pistils up top and filling out like a pine cone but the next bud down on the cola has not finished the same way. I am new to this hybrid so I don't "know her" yet but I will wait at least a few more days hoping the lower buds finish the same way and really start watching for bud rot.

As always, beautiful pics Buckshot! I think about "done" pretty much the same way. I check trichomes now and then, but it's somewhat secondary to waiting for it to plump up and the pistils withering back, etc.

Drive bye. Dude they starting to look sweet. Make sure she run her course. Rule of thumb, if you think she has acouple more days, bet it's a week. Off the top of my head I can't call the strain you got growing. It doesn't show any special traits I can identify Like Blue Dream or SLH they have that different look you can pick out. Thank You Buckshot. That was a really good explanation. It's funny, but I just look at them and know when they are close. Maybe I do what you do, but don't know it. I do let mine go a bit long, I like the effect.

Lots of work last night. I planted a bunch of clones. I did something new for me. I grabbed a big block of coco and did about 1/2 & 1/2 mix with happy frog. I am not sure how I like it yet. I do know I hurt myself fighting that shit out of the bag even after watering. I do like the way it "works" so maybe we will get along. I might have saved haze time will tell and blue dream cloned up nice the only problem child was the unknown that started growing like little flowering plants. I took those two clones and picked off all the flowers and planted... maybe they will re-veg but I am betting it is an auto so I don't know if it will work. I almost took big girl again tonight to make room for a huge blue moon but I forced myself to wait, why waste 3 months? (I hear you NC ) The two blue dreams are female ... very slow...very. The room has gone into slow motion with all this sativa in there. I do have a blue moon and a S Girl in there now so in just a couple weeks they will photo ready. Time to just relax... not

Ok a little med report. I have decided that I reduced the purple tincture to a perfect level for under the tounge. I went out and got an eyedropper bottle or three and filled them all, with reserve, plus I have a good bit in the freezer that has not been reduced I shot a few drops under the tounge and wowee zowee it worked "haze'em style" (I can't do the dance or I will go viral )
As some of you know I chopped "small girl" a blue moon x SI (hash bud plant x commercial indica) the first hybrid from the SI cross. She was taken a little early because she was so small and taking up my 6 count so out she went. She is barely dry but I could not wait and tried her out. I should have waited, she has a wicked head (taken early) and her flavor was just getting there, the finished bud would have made better meds and tasted better too. Hind sight is always 20/20

Isn't sublingual an interesting effect? I enjoy the act of smoking, but love the effects of tincture! I bet yours is phenomenal! Definitely going to experiment with a few small batches once my buds cure up
For a Crohn's patient, its something you can still have during flares, since the esophagus is sore from vomiting (makes smoking or vaping unpleasant).. And from the same symptoms, edibles are impossible.
