I trying now to breed some autos..this is the F2 seeds and under 18/6 start to show theis sex...so i have autos now ...I want to breed my Twista clone, i'll be happy either way male or no female though, I <3 growing
Sorry dont mean to come off negative about flipping to flower.
What I meant to say is that most plants will show you gender before flipping to flower lighting. Mainly FEMALES will show you pistols in VEG after they are mature. Male plants will try and FAKE like they have pistols but if you look closer, they don't show ANY sex traits. Those are usually MALE.
If we wait until the plant is adult (alternating nodes) you should be able to see sex more easily. The lack of pistols is USUALLY a sign in and of itself in a mature plant.
It's when we are flipping earlier in VEG is when this question is asked more often.
I think this is actually strain dependent. The strain I’ve got going now, all of the males showed in veg and the females didn’t show pistils until 7 days into 12/12, even though all plants had alternating nodes before the flip.
That's interesting. I've always been able to see a female in VEG. It's when I don't see a pistol and got into flower she always turns into a male. LOL
You're probably right cause every time I put a plant into flower not knowing the sex - she's a he. FFS. lol
