My new grow space

Soil growers get dirty. Hydro all the way. You could put a whale in every pot and hydro will beat the flippers off it every time.
No fkn idea what that means lmao, you do throw out a nugget every now and then.....clearly you've been standing too close to your reservoir at disinfecting time lol. .

I have to agree as far as pure volume of plant is concerned, maybe once I get my head around growing in a few years I will do some renovating LOL.

Nice the middle wall is up!

You are working your "bud" off eh? i dont exatly understand the door discussion but could you do a sliding door with rubber flaps to seal or something like that?(thinking about a van door kind of thing).

The room is really coming along nicely buddy. what i see now is the isolation on the floor right? what would you put on that before putting the pvc tiles? i only know the 3mm kind of tiles so maybe these are different? the one i know are reallt tough and water resistand IF you install them right :p

cant wait to see the end result:thumb:

What you're looking at is the flower room. The floors were already insulated with R20 before I laid down any of the plywood. I also put plywood on the underside to prevent any animals from getting into my insulation.

We were discussing the interior wall that separates flower from my tents, but I have decided to do a swinging door because I need the wall to be able to hold weight when I hang my racks off it at the appropriate level. My plants are going to be 24 inches off the ground to start so that I can see how the space works and thwn down to 12" once they hit the 30 day mark in flower......in an effort to save my posture LOL. I bought a bakery Rock yesterday, that I am going to take apart and cut into the appropriate shape that I need. It's high quality stainless steel......seems a shame but it's perfect.

The VCT tiles are just going to be glued down to the floor right on top of the plywood, but I haven't decided if I'm going to do that or a one piece epoxyshield floor that you just paint on. Either one will take warmer temperatures than I presently have outside, so it means the heater will have to be turned on. No big deal though, it'll give me the opportunity to do some trials as far as temperature is concerned.

Ram board for underneath as well ? Not sure if it will help . I'm baby guy what's up bro

Lol....1/2" ply underneath. I once had a cottage and used OSB and the Animals ate right through it..... Learned my lesson pretty quick LOL.

Oh yeah I used 5/8 plywood for my sub floor then ram board for extra insulation and vapour barrier. Then floor over top look how well my kitchen is doing .

I was not so eloquently expounding on the benefits of hydro over soil by inferring that no matter what you put in soil it will never compete with hydro. I might be a tad bit biased.

Define compete....are we talking yield or are we talking about quality or are we talking ease of growth. My brother grows monsters in Hydro....but his stuff can't hold a candle to mine in flavor or smoothness (I have a jar of his Kali Trainwreck but I won't smoke it...tastes like shit). Sure he out yields me, but I care more about quality than quantity. I still pull about a pound per grow in my little 4x4 tent and I don't need to do anything other than add water for the entire grow. I don't need to spend money on nutes or Pens to monitor my EC or PPM. So while you might have get better yields, but thats the stopping point to the advantages of Hydro to this soil guy LOL.

Hey I can put this in terms of something we can all understand. Hydro is like going to a buffet for dinner. You are going to get a shit ton of food.....and you will be full, but just how good is it compared to that gormet surf and turf restaurant?

All kidding aside....the only right answer is the growing style that you enjoy doing. For me, its all about the dirt. Find what works for you, produces enough of high enough quality medicine and be happy. Thats what life is all about....doing the things to make us happy!

Hey, you know what I so far I'm loving it all. I haven't had the opportunity yet to try all aspects of growing but I'd love to at some point. I did in fact have my interest piqued by Rider509 and went out and bought myself a little single bucket Hydro setup today that I may do just in the corner to see how we fare?

Maybe with one of these....

That all being said, I also continue to full fill my list of amendments for my batch of Stanks soil which has been the plan for at least the past few months after seeing his incredible results. I know I've got more kicking around here somewhere too LOL.

I certainly like the idea of creating the soil once, and then just having two amend as you go with foliar sprays Etc. I am actually enjoying learning about the ins and outs of the plants even if it does come at the cost of my beautiful looking leaves or at least the way they used to look LMAO. That being said, I am not losing a lot of frost or volume from these girls at this point, take a look and see what you think.

Cbd Kings Kush auto......a little mute burn without adding any lol.

Onto larger Topix.... hehehe
.... . I did have a chance to work on the grow room today. I started by sweeping, then laying down the flooring. I chose to go with a one piece linoleum purely for ease of cleanup as well as installation. I know with the temperatures that we are having here presently, it would be difficult to get tile adhesive to set overnight without keeping heat on in there and efficiently through an extension cord from the house. I curled the linoleum up the walls in case of spills and for easy cleanup once again..

I bought a second-hand Bakery shelf that was made of high end stainless steel, took it apart and proceeded to construct my shelves for my plants. I used extra heavy duty brackets for those as well as for my new little 2x2x5 propagation tent. My existing 3x3x6 tent will be modified to fit in underneath this at this point, I may come up with something else for Christmas if I behave myself LMAO.

Tomorrow I have to install the Panda film or whatever I decide to use on my interior wall as well as mounting the door and then eventually checking for leaks and making sure that everything is taped up.
Then I'm looking for my electrical inspection..... that should be happening this week by a friend of mine who's a certified Pro.

That's all for now, got some work done in the actual Workshop as well in order to get these thing's sealed up for the winter.

Night all..... One Step Closer my friends.....

That sucks that all of my photos showed up sideways, if I wasn't so tired I probably go back and fix that LOL. Maybe tomorrow.

Thanks King.....mountains out of molehills, I know lol.

Picked up my much sought after "Azos" amendment today. $90 later, lol. Frickin green sand is eluding me from a Canadian source.

$90 for a soil amendment Guy! You're into it heavy and for the long run!

For sure. We all saw Stanks girls. No matter what the strain, they do Wicked!. I started with the Promix, that was all good but this learning curve is blowing me away. Stanks soil has a pile in it, but my base soil is totally different than his recipe. It calls for Roots Organic, but again.....totally cost prohibitive for 60-80 gallons. I'm going with a local Ontario company for my base. They've dedicated the past 3 years to sourcing the best deal on all the amendments and ingredients. All over that location in the next couple of weeks.....lol. Looking at the hydro too Fly......in fact I've got my Hydroton soaking right now. Might try one of the Crown Royal in hydro and the other in Promix to see how we do. Both on DNF....just got a great deal on 10L jugs. No harm, I'm still loving trying the different methods, every day I learn.

At least now I know the YouTube vids claiming FFOF can be used unamended til the end are crap lol.

Hey, watch what you're saying about crap! But yeah, it's a bigtime learning curve for sure. I wish I had the space and money to go a little bigger, so I'll content myself on seeing what I can do in a small space. I've had my nose in books on this since I started doing it in March. And while I'm on the topic, do you need any more books?

I'm so into this place and the grow room that I haven't had time to do any reading. I downloaded the book you sent over, I've also got an Ed Rosenthal book on the coffee table....... I can't wait for Xmas time off.

I got one of Rosenthal's books here on the tablet.Real good info on it. I'm not reading as much as I used to - it goes in cycles, like coffee haha - but I always got a book on the go.

Time to take it easy for awhile before I pack it in. Have another puff and see where that takes me hah! Have a good night man - I'll have my phone on at work tomorrow.
