My First Journal: First Time LED And 3rd Grow

There is no scientific debate as to the increased efficiency from modern led grow lights and chinese crap burples.

The "seeing" has been done.

The fact burples can grow perfectly decent plants is not evidence for their longevity, efficiency, second hand price or safety.

A burple also makes it more difficult, much more difficult for growers to see what is going on with a grows leaves (nutrient defficiency, burn etc) versus natural light.

Your lights are on hour upon hour over month after month to grow a crop and often largely unsupervised. It matters...

It is also quite easy to build your own leds or cobs or buy second hand for what you pay for cheap chinese burples.

I am not the first person to buy a crap tent that was too small, multiple crap lights etc and regret it later.

It is difficult for most new growers to pull out the better modern advice from adequate modern or out of date advice but no one should be in doubt that quality light needs to be the bedrock of any grow.

Thesedays, burples aint it and if you are throwing them away after a grow or two, you probably wont have learnt much using them that you couldn't have learnt with better lighting from day 1.

In the Uk (where growing is illegal) it is now at the point where even buying traditional grow lights and ballasts etc second hand is not as efficient and more expensive than buying a decent modern led grow light unless you are growing on a commercial scale and know what you are doing.

There is much to be lost and little if anything to be gained buying cheap chinese burple lights...

This guys channel will keep most new and intermediate growers upto date on grow lights

So really I'm not guna get no good results other people have said it was good all reviews were good and I haven't got loads of money to spend as im just seeing what to sort of expect I've still got my hps for back up what sort of led would you suggest if I'm looking for equivalent to a 600w HPs??

See how it performs but be mindful of other options to maximise your results. If you're on a budget I'd look into a DIY build or Mars Hydro. PAR values are about the same as a mars hydro TS1000 which is a little more expensive but that's dimmable and uses even less power. But as Birdie said it is easier to see your plants properly under a white light.

Well I won't buy anymore of these and will look into mars hydro next I need to to be compatible to a 600w hps had good results of that but expensive to run and was only 1.2 m by 1.8 not attic one either IL have a look for next time only be like 3 months

This site has plenty of info on lighting.

"other people" suggests you are willing to fall for an argumentum ad populum.

In argumentation theory, an argumentum ad populum (Latin for "appeal to the people"[1]) is a fallacious argument that concludes that a proposition must be true because many or most people believe it, often concisely encapsulated as: "If many believe so, it is so

Unfortunately we are all brought up with these sorts of arguments and ways of thinking and it takes a lot of effort to retrain our brains to think critically...

Okay cool. Probably best in future to start them in smaller pots and then transplant as they outgrow those. Can be harder to get the watering right with a seedling in a big pot.

Just follow that tutorial and you can't go wrong. Should work nicely for you. Wasn't the best for me as I had severe height constraints and couldn't get the full benefit of that method. Still a couple of good plants though.
