My First Indoor Grow - Unknown Strain

Hey guys. I HAVE BUDS growing !!! Whoooo Hooooo !
Boshiba is doing well, although I found out a few days ago that
my silly housemates wife had also watered Boshiba with full strength
concentrate fert at the same time she had done that to my Snow White.
So... several leaves on Boshiba were badly burned and dried up to the point
they were crumbling. I have since removed those leaves as they couldn't
possibly had been of any help to the plant. The good news is that she is
recovering nicely and starting to bud. Boshiba is 2 weeks under 12/12 beneath
the 400w HPS. I took clones almost 5 days ago and they are still very green
and firm. Apparently they are healthy and I believe they will make it.
They are in the Phototron with 24/7 light with the Snow White atm.
The Snow White is recovering nicely also and it needs repotting soon.
I am trying to wait until the clones are ready to pot to do so, as I need to
get the clones AND the Snow White in the Phototron and it's be tough to
make room until I get the clones rooted and in pots.

Darn.... I figured you guys woulda been happy to see I *finally* got a bud to grow ! :p

id recommend changing your 400 watt hps down to a 250 watt envirolite for the vegatative stage, you can move these so close to the plant its unreal they dont kick out no heat atall, you can also get a 125 watt envirolite which i would seriuoly concider investing in there about 25 quid. i was growing them like you are now and when i switched down to the envirolite my plants looked so much better bigger and overall healthier, are you using that 400 watt light to bud them aswell, changing between the two will give you more buds due to more light in the flowering stage, but youll be suprised at how much the 250 watt envirolite gives off,

FatJoe - However, those clones are lookin poor. They need a humidity dome over them that has been sprayed with water to maintain high humidity and they must be given fresh air daily for a few minutes.

Yea...i have them in a dome , just took 'em out for the picture. I been keeping the rockwool moist, that's why it looks wet. the 4 clones are in 4 cubes, just a little 1/4" strip holds them together, I figured it'd be way easy to cut and seperate the top strip that holds them together when rooted. The stems are very firm and standing as tall as when i first cut them and the leave are nice and green, they were very small clones, I figured the leaves were a bit droopy because of all the water / moisture, I dunno, it's my first attempt. I been reading and doing homework on the subject, but I'll delve more.

tippett - id recommend changing your 400 watt hps down to a 250 watt envirolite for the vegatative stage,

I have the clones and the Snow White under Fluros atm, Only the main female, Boshiba is under the 400w HPS for flowering. as per :

The clones and the Snow White are in light 24/7 atm. If the clones don't make it , I'll try again. I "really" only need one to survive.

The buds look great! The new growth is real healthy and im sure it will lead to good bud growth!

Boshiba is doing well and getting more and more bud sites.
Snow White is doing well and has been re-potted into it's final pot.
The clones died. :| I said screw it, I'm gonna quit farting around and go out tomorrow and buy a Cabinet to modify as a grow cab with veg, clone and flowering areas. I'll try cloning again after I build the cab. I am going to get a 6' cab with 2 vertical sections , use 1/2 for clones/veg and 1/2 for flowering. I will get a nice fan and also build a carbon scrubber. I will also get CFLs for the veg/clone side. I'll post pics as I modify/build the thing and then PLEASE.. I need a link with pics for cloning . I want to clone in soil (hopefully the plugs you soak in water overnight) and I want to have the clones in a small chamber above the veg plant. Any help is most welcome.

Well...took me 2 days , but the new cabinet is built ! Even built myself a carbon scrubber
in case we get pesky house guests. I am AMAZED at how well it works.
Even with the few flowers I have, It was getting so I could smell the plants in the living room,
Now I can't smell them when I am *right* beside the cabinet !
Pics as soon as they are approved :) NOW I gotta learn to clone.

Peace:bongrip:

Here's the cabinet. I'll post new plant pics in a day or so :)

The Carbon Scrubber I made :) Sorry it's behind the HPS

I'm retiring the Phototron, LOL !

Boshiba's buds are getting larger and are really dense. I knew the plant would look bad after the over fert problem and I've been trying to work with it. The PH is 6.8 -6.9 with Boshiba and Snow White , temps hover around 80 and humidity is hanging around 30-40%. I have given Boshiba nothing but water since the nute burn. I gave Snow White a dose of very light fert this morning. Boshiba is getting new growth at the bud sites and Snow White is looking good. I don't know what to do to help Boshiba at the moment, so any suggestions are most welcome. :| I'm hoping she does ok until a harvest and I am gonna attempt to clone her again in the next few days if it isn't too late. It is my first female plant , so I'd like to continue the strain . I'm trying and at my wits end as how to help the plant. Anyway, here's pics.

Boshiba - sorry for the *really* yellow look...Under the HPS
3 weeks 12/12 now

I *know* it's a bit fuzzy, but the ph meter is reading 6.8 - 6.9

Nirvana Snow White - Taking to LST Nicely - 5 weeks old
sw001.jpg

Lemme now what I can do to help Boshiba. As far as I can tell it's not PH or temp.

Peace:bongrip:

Thanx so much for all the replies guys, to me, that's what makes this
forum a great place to hang.
Yupper, I thinks the whole problem is definitely over fert and a bit of
overwatering. If any of you read the previous posts in this thread
you'll see that both plants, Boshiba and the Nirvana Fem. Snow White
got a full concentrate fert watering from my housemates wife. I found
out that Boshiba had been done after I knew about the snow white.
I flushed each plant a LOT and then the next 2 watering I flushed and
most probably did it too soon... I have learned about watering and I
generally wait till the pot is nice and light until I add water and for those
pots I give maybe 3 quarts or so unless I flush and then I used 2 - 3 gallons.
Boshiba has gotten nothing but water since that and only one very light
fert for the snow white.

The ventilation is not a problem. The fan is moving 70 cfm thru the scrubber and there
is also a fan directly on the hps bulb. With a grow area as small as mine ( 2x2x4.5 = 18 cubic feet)
that 70 cfm *should* be ample. Also , ventilation intake holes are drilled around the base.
The temp hangs around 80 in the hps chamber with both fans on.

The spray bottle is just hanging out there. I had it out to mist the 2 new clones I took off Boshiba.
I'm trying to clone again. they are 3 days old and looking better than last attempt.
I'll post pics of them soon if I'm not to ashamed of my handywork. :smokin2:
You cloning guys amaze me with your wizardry , but I WILL learn to do it daymn it ! :adore: :p
I haven't sprayed Boshiba with the water. Should I ?

Anyway...that's where I stand atm. I'll post more later , Thanx for the help.

Bummer...Heavy Sigh....
I was putzing around the plants today and slipped. I hit the main stem of the Snow White with my elbow and totally bent it over. The stem didn't break off, but is bent hard at a 90 degree angle. I'm SO hoping it will recover. :| I guess I'll know in a day or so. I've heard that bent plants do survive, so I'm hoping for the best. I suppose I could look at it as an accidental super crop. The plant is LST'd so it would be very low at this stage because I've seen with the last 2 plants that when they do start the stretch, it worked out nicely when they were spread around and low. Think it will live ? I'll take a few pics in a bit and post.
On the plus side... the 2 clones taken off Boshiba *seem* to be doing well.
I hope they root. I'm SO mad at myself right now. :| I'll post pics of them also.
Pray for my Snow White. :|
