The AC isn't adding humidity. A properly vented AC will remove humidity through condensation on the coils which then drip down to the drip tray and drain. As your AC isn't venting the heat to the outside you are adding the heat put off by the motors to your room. If you can vent the exhaust air it will cool the room and reduce humidity. Can you run a duct to the basement window?
