I'm thinking that, if you hadn't cut the top off of the plant, you might have known for sure by now. Seems like where I tend to see the first flowers on the main stem of a cannabis plant is just slightly above where people cut, lol.
Next time, just tie the top of the plant down in such a way that it's no longer the highest part of the plant. It'll rapidly cause a redistribution of the auxins (aka plant hormones) that govern primary behavior to those now uppermost ones, instead of the plant having to generate more of them. That might save some little time, while also leaving the nodes at the base of which you can generally expect to see the first flowers along the main stem. <SHRUGS> You can always carve on it later, if you still feel the compulsion. . . .
