My First CFL Closet Grow - Unknown Bag Seed

nice job on those pix, she looks so nice and healthy... that sux to hear about your outdoor plant, you had it straight in the ground? i have to keep mine in a pot ontop of a high table cus i have a little dog (chihuahua damn lil rat!!!) and i know from past experiences that dogs like the little sprouters!!! back in the day when i learned this i had 12 seeds going they had sprouted indoors and once they got they're 3rd set of leaves we put them outside, well like maybe 2 hours later I go to check on them to see how they adjusting to the outside, come to find my German Shepard was just finishing up getting all the soil out of the pots!!!! man i was pissed!!! guard dog my ass!!! but yea i cant wait to see what your gonna do wit that auto!!! i have yet to follow one of those yet, so if that gets planted you better know imma stick around for this!!!
:peacetwo:

@astonr420 yeah it was in the ground with a bunch of rose bushes as protection but i guess it was not enough. If I do the auto, I'll prob start it off in a small container outside on the patio table. Then once it gets to a decent size move her into the ground. I've got a few strains and ideas just right now keeping things on a budget is key.

its the color temp of the light. Different color temps produce a different spectrum of light needed for the plants. A color temp near 6500K will produce a blueish light which result have shown better for plants in a vegetative state. While a temp near 2700k will produce a redish light which helps with flowering. Some people even like to mix the two together to create a more balanced light spectrum for the plants. Knowing your output or lumens of your lights is good to know information as well.

sorta on both there FGG. you want your plant to get as many lumens as it can possibly get, but you also want to make sure that you get the right color spectrum lighting for the different stages of her life, as in the 6700K means its the color temperature being that it is 6700 Kelvins which is a Blue and is very much needed for the veg stage of her life, it is what the summer months would be giving her naturally if it had been an outdoor, and then when you switch her over to flowering you need more of a Red spectrum color which is 2700K, if you look on the ballast of your CFL bulbs you will see where it shows you if its a 2700K or a 6700K. And for the Lumens for CFL's it is best to get them as close to the tops as possible, lumens loses their light power from distance, so the more Lumens you can get in there the better! Hope this helps!!!

WOW i had no idea i could get CFL's in different spectrums. Im deff gonna start getting on top of this. I had to replace a 2600 lumen yesterday (cant find the K value) with a bright white (instead of soft white) with 2100 lumens, this new one is 3500k. Does that mean its a little less red?
Also by chance have you heard of odor eliminating CFL's? i mentioned it in my grow journal last night. If so are they effective? I did order one so ill get it soon.\
Thanks for the Knowledge! :rollit:

Here's a small graphic of the Color Temps on the Kelvin Scale this should help a little.

Can't say I've heard of an odor eliminating CFL nor seem them before. If anyone else has any experience with these please let us know cause I'm kinda interested myself :)

Well guys today I decided to check trichomes and to my lovely surprise she's got a very nice mix of cloudy and amber crystals. :yahoo:

So today was the day....

Sorry guy's but my buddy has the scale right now so I can't get an accurate "WET" weight but I will def post the dry weight before I put it in jars.

Today I'm going to go ahead and clean up the grow area to prep it for the next little girl. Glad you all tuned in for this grow and hoping you all will continue to watch other future ones :)

To Be Continued..... :yahoo: :yahoo:

Overall I don't think I did too bad for my first grow in over 5yrs and very first time with CFLs. This just show's you what a man, a dream and a small batch of seeds can do. Grow On my friends Grow On!!! :high-five:

Dekon, are you continue on this journal or are you gonna start a new journal, if so hit me up and send me the link!!! i wanna follow!!!! awesome job on your harvest!!! that cola is just huge, i really hope mine starts to take off soon! 20 days away from harvest and the cola is only about 1 in. really small, and the other cola cus i topped it is just a little under 1 in.

:peacetwo:

oh yeah I'm going to be starting a brand new journal doing an BCN Diesel *auto* strain outdoor. All the reviews from this strain says it smells like "urine" while in flower. So yeah there's no way I want my house smelling like urine.... good weed or not.... lol

As well I've got another "unknown" strain. My little baby girl that has been vegging patiently now for the past 33 days. Well she's been moved into the flower chamber so tomorrow is going to be the start of Day 1. I took a few clones off this one a few days ago. Hopefully they take if not no biggie I still have a ton of seeds from this strain.

So sometime tomorrow I plan on starting a couple new journals just to keep them separate and easier to follow :grinjoint:

FYI the total height of the plant was 19in and the cola was 14in of that :)

wow, my lady is at 28 in. right now, and like i said it is only about an in. but tonight lights went on and it bloomed a lil more now, its about 1 1/2 in. now so i think that was do to the feeding 2 days ago!!! well i will be looking for your new journals!

** Harvest Update **

I had a small grey mold issue with one of the larger stalks. So I cut all the buds from the stalks and placed them spread out on a window screen for better air flow. So that seemed to work the best for drying this baby out. Gone ahead today, finished manicuring all the buds and starting to cure them.

Total Dry: 37.4g (with stalks removed)

She was a little shy of my original mark but I'm sure I would of hit that if I didn't have to deal with the mold. During the drying processes WOW, she did not smell like no cut grass. Almost like someone ran a damn skunk over and tossed the remains in my house.... lol

Overall:
Very Happy about the money I'm going to save on meds!

Well she's all dry to were you can smoke her now. I pulled a few g's out for myself and the rest is just jarred up. I plan on curing her for at least 2 weeks. Curing is usually all up to the "end user", I just want to give the buds time enough to saturate in its own funk.

Early smoke report is its a very very "heady" high that slowly travels to the body. Has a homegrown skunky smell with earthy aftertones.
