My First Attempt

This will be my first grow. I started with a custom cfl grow box that i made out of a speaker box. Ive stepped it up slighty as far as grow space. Now i have recently have gotten a 4x4x6.5 grow tent and a 600watt Vivosun mh/hps light set up. Still need fans, filter, ducting....etc. Im getting everything bit by bit lol. I plan to get some FF Ocean forest, 5 gal fabric pots, FF nutes, and other things. Ill be showing pics of my current journey. 4 bag seeds sprouted Nov. 23. Im now on day 33 and only 2 remain. Im using dirt from outside with ph'd water. Still no nutes yet as i have to get some but check me out and any feedback is welcome and appreciated.[/IMG]

Nice box Pro is definitely a very good idea to build your own just make sure your temps and humidity is in check because in my experience in boxes it is very hard to keep my temper and my humidity at the right level

Thanks for the input Ken. I was having temp issues in the box and added 3 computer fans but it did little. Had to keep door open at times.

Nice job with the LST, you will have a great yeild if you have that grow style. I am gonna do something called mainlining, it's great for high yeild and light even everywhere. This is my baby LST in dwc

She looks great...ima a fan of DWC. Once i get a few grows under my belt i def want to give it a shot. Looks like alot of fun. How long have you been doing DWC?

Actually not long. I started about a year ago, I have even done dwc outdoors. Right on my back porch in summer. Now in dwc and I use a couple different styles. I do top feed dwc buckets, some dwc with air stone black buckets 6 inch net pot, and even a Tupperware tub 3 gallon with 2 inch net pot. My favorite is dwc buckets and a good air stone. I'll add a second airstone to my system sometimes if I want to cut back on nutes. Air pumped into water is great for root health as well as low res temp never above 74 degrees

A1kane. I tried to answer your pm but I don't have enough posts. To answer your questions I really can't say how effective the 6" fan and carbon filter are because I've used them from day 1 and this is my first grow. I can tell you that my 6" clip on fan blowing directly under my hood has been very effective for allowing me to get the light closer to the plants. The 6" fan and carbon filter came as a kit I purchased on amazon the brand is I power. My cooled hood also came as a kit with the digital balast and bulbs it was Apollo. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help brother

Your carbon filter the best brand is phat pharm. They last forever and no odor. And i use 2 carbon filters in my flower tent one as a scrubbber and one suspended incorporated into cooled sealed hood.

Killian & Ken you guys are great help seriously. I do tons of research, youtube, etc. Its nothing like being able to share ideas, knowledge, and tips with good peps like yall. 420 is the first forum ive ever joined and i must say it has been one of the best thing ive could have done. Seeing both of your plants and setup is motivation. Im on day 35 and feeling confident with this bag seed and outside ground dirt grow. Started as a test run but now im all in. Thanks again. I think ive become pretty good wit my LST. Thanks again guys.

I still get excited just only when its a new strain of new type of plant training i have a new grow starting soon that will be 4 dwc buckets. Each of them will be mainlining plant training and long veg time. I cant wait. During there veg i will be flowering my clones and older mother's. So it should be perfect timing for veg and flowers to be finished this is part of that harvest that just finished xmas day, its incredible bulk

. I've done a ton of research myself but interaction with other growers is where its at for me. Its going to be nice to look back on these journals and see how we've progressed. There's a lot of killer grows on this site and for the most part if you ask a question people are eager to respond. Happy growing and keep us updated brother.

Finish and then go right into flower with the photos. I will have to do some research and see what a good bulb would be for the autos flowering and the photos vegging together. Any ideas or is this even possible

What up Killian i heard that mh bulbs could be used for veg and flower. You prolly could have your autos in there with ur photos and when the autos are done you can take them out and put in ur hps and let the photos do their thang

Not much going on but these two plants are both 5 weeks old but the difference is significant. Also they both are bag seeds using dirt from outside. I can't wait to get my fox farm ocean Forest soil and fox farm nutrients. My little garden is coming together bit by bit.

A1kane, I like the training you have going on there. Your gonna love the fox farms products. I added 30% perilite to my ffof soil. Its supposed to help with airation and drainage. I don't have anything to compare it to but I love the results I'm getting. Mine are 18 days into flower and really putting on the bud sites. I also pH my water every time. Keep after it. It's all about learning the first grow. I'm sure are second grows will be much better.
