I think you will do just fine! From reading it sounds like ph was your issue? I have been using RO water, but I am switching to municipal to try to reduce costs, a $100 a plant a run for water! A nearby cities water test out at 300 ppm so I think it will work for me, my farm well water is at 1000 ppm so its just not usable. Now I just need a 200 gallon tank to put in my garage! I found I wasted my money on a expensive ph pens, the dye style is more reliable, and way cheaper. I have two pens and they never agree and constantly need calibration. Now I never use them and they also don't work in RO or distilled anyway, but the ph dye test will.
