Thanks Becca. I didn't use any light for that first time period either. I just kept a black cloth over the shoe boxes until it was ready for light.
 
After 1st flush/harvest, pour 200mL of distilled water into the tub and cover it again for a week. After a day or two, check the tub to see all the water has been absorbed, if it hasn't, remove the excess with a baster or equiv.
After another dark week, remove cover, add light and wait for next flush.

The patience's you learned growing the ladies will come into play with mushroom.

Like weed they like 70-80 degrees to grow mycelium efficiency and I keep mind covered the first two week, but I do a lot of things outside the ordinary.

Mycelium is colonizing the tub. We are almost ready for fruiting conditions.

Note: This is a picture of my monotub with the air vents on & lights on, however to avoid fruiting conditions during colonization, I keep a plastic bag over the top with lights off.

Thanks! I really appreciate it. For fruiting conditions I plan on taking the plastic bag off the monotub, initiating the 12/12 light cycle, & turning on the inline fan for good air circulation. What do you think?

Sounds like a good plan. You will certainly need the fresh air exchange (FAE).
You are making me want to get my 1st 2025 shroom grow started earlier than Spring. LOL
I can't wait to see the forest of fruit you will have in there.

I'm pondering things.
These plants are throwing me off at the moment because 2 of them are not doing an Auto thing, they are doing more of a photo thing and that has set my timing back a bunch.
The Purple Mystic will be on my list to start a new batch because it was so easy to grow, and of course Blue Meanie and Tidal Wave that I have so many spore prints of, not to mention a chit ton of liquid culture I made.

My sister from another Mr. is retiring in March and she's already requesting her magic mushroom supply, which is going to deplete my stock severely. 😂
Tag me when you get that new journal/grow going, I will be there like fine frogs' hair!
