My 1st grow

Hi MI great progress, the plants are lovin their new pots and lighting.

Roots again,lol.. are they showing a bit of green or is that just the pic? Maybe a little light getting through the styrofoam? Doesn't look like it caused any issues in any event. Nice job.

Plants are growing like weeds. You must be doing something correct. Great job and your going to have some sticky buds in your near future. Great job again....

Yes Sir boyz and girls, I said that nasty word.... :slide:MG:slide:...lol.. I want to see if there is a big difference in that and what the pros use...lol We will all see if I can grow a plant just as good on a cheaper budget.. I'll be watering my plants with it durning the vegging stage once a week or so. Then I'll find something during the blooming process. I'm not sure what yet but I'll find something..

Sup PAchama and Smoker, glad to hear from ya.

I am using A Shultz line of soil, nuetz, and bloom booster very easy on the wallet and is very hard to burn your plants by using the label directions. I start at 1/4 strength of recommended and then gradually increase but not feeding more than twice a week.

sup homie...you'll know if your plants like that nute or not...they'll tell u...i used this vigoro nute 24-16-8 or some sh!t like that when i was vegging...burned one plant pretty bad and killed another..i said f**k it and stopped using it..decided im not using nutes during veg anymore..:rollit:

That's why I said I was gonna see how they react to it over the next week, if they have a bad reaction then I'm not gonna use it. I always try to keep it simple.

My camera is a P.O.S, no the roots were nice and white. I told ya I would post a pic for ya...lol Yes they are loving the new pots, I gotta do the others as soon as I get more $$$$ for the soil.

I won't ever use it myself, but I've seen some okay results with MG, and some really bad results as well. If you're going to play around with it, use 1/4 or less than what they recommend.

When it comes to flowering, I'm partial to ESU and FoxFarm products, but have been leaning more towards FoxFarm the last year or so. If you check out Eco Garden Supplies website you can get FoxFarm Big Bloom from them for around 13 bucks a quart, or less than 35 bucks for a gallon.

As always with nutes, use them sparingly at first until you figure out what your babies can handle. I prefer to err on the side of caution as opposed to burning up my plants.

Just my two cents.

MI-Grower, question bro. Do you use anything besides straight soil in your pots? We have been placing a layer of washed pea gravel down first, about 1-1/2 inches, then cover with landscape fabric, then fill will soil. The pea gravel aides in drainage while the landscape fabric prevents soil from washing out. Come time to pull the plants, we simply grab the stalk and lift. The pea gravel remains behind, ready to be rinsed and reused, while the landscape fabric is held in place by the roots. Makes for a much cleaner process of getting prepared for the next grow, and the plants seem to do well with it.

Thats cool, I was curious because I'll plant in anything that'll hold soil, lol. Now I know I can use styrofoam.:thanks:

To answer ur question bro I put gravel in the bottom thats it. I transplanted those with MG potting mix and added those white things I 4get the name of-em as well as a little bit of an organic potting mix. I'll have to keep in mind of your technique and try it next grow. I'll more than likely just cut-em down at the base and work from there if you know what I mean. Throw out the soil and start from stratch..

Welcome back PAchama, what is hydroton, may I ask..

Hey Mi-Grower...

Hydroton is a soilless media made of clay that is used primarily in hydroponic grows. you can mix it with soil if you'd like but most ppl dont, and it isnt really necessary because perlite will do just fine...

you're ladies are definitly getting healthier and look really great, that pic you had of the styrofoam cup split was a nice one, your ladies lookted nice...

on the topic of rootballs, i honestly dont leave my rootballs intact, i gently shake the soil from them, and break it up gently and repot them.. in my experience with it, i've noticed that the roots spread out more and take a lil bit longer to to be repotted, not because of shock but because they filled out more of the soil.

try it with one or two plants and tell me what ya think ;)

overall tho id say :goodjob: w/ur grow fa sure

+rep to ya, u are committed to ur ladies

Sup neighbor, I'll have to check into those. I'm new to nutes and all this stuff... I got 24 packets enough for up to 48 gallons of water for not even 5 bucks..Thanks for ur comment bro..

MI-Grower, do you have a hydro shop nearby? There are 2 in GR. The one that we frequent is Medical Marijuana friendly, even offer 10% discounts for Medical Marijuana Card holders.

I'll have to check into it. I think their might be 1 in K-zoo but Im not sure..Thanks 4 that useful info bro..
