These are from my first attempt at spore prints. Easier than cloning weed, just got to keep everything surgically clean.
I managed to successfully use these spore prints after 2 failed attempts (contamination) so quite happy it works.
I’ve got enough spores stored away to have 3 sets of shrooms there for the rest of my life (again, weird laws in the UK. This is perfectly legal)
But I’m becoming something of a collector now, I’m happy to keep trying different varieties and methods. It’s a fun hobby. I love it. And not as labour intensive or obvious as growing weed which is a massive bonus for me
Plus the spore prints look so purdy

Well, now there's an idea on what to do with those cakes when I'm finished. I've got 30 acres of wooded property to throw them around on, wetland on some of it, streams. I've tried with the Morels, but they are extremely persnickety little rats on where they want to grow.Lol. That’s the dream.
I dispose of my old mycelium cakes in woodland on my dog walks. Find an old tree trunk, roll it and squash it in
Saw an article somewhere saying this is the beauty of mycelium. It will just return to its buddies in the system
There’s a company in the US using mycelium packaging now instead of polystyrene. All packaging can be reused or returned to nature (though judging by humanity’s propensity for cardboard i could see a Last Of Us style cordycep-based apocalypse as the mycelium covered everything

To prevent side pins from becoming mouldy, balance the cake on a Chro Coil
Last pic is for the 3rd and possibly 4th flushes. I take the cake out of the container and balance it on a coil well above the water in the bag.
Helps to free up side pins and prevent mould growth by freeing up a bit of space. Get shrooms coming out of 100% of the cake too

I think that Grow house will help a lot there. I have a homemade tub in process now. It's a former Sous Vide container with a lid. I think it's going to work great for one of the all-in-one bag cakes.Honestly happy to share the knowledge.
If you can get it out the tub without contaminating it really helps yield towards the end.
I’ve toyed with hanging the cake too, again if you can do it without contaminating the cake then happy days, extra shrooms where there wouldn’t have been
Haven’t tried hanging them from the beginning but I think yield would be greatly improved.
