On the autos that I have done I wait until the 3rd to 5th node, depending on how healthy they are looking, and then again when there are 3 more nodes on the new shoots or branches. This is what I do. I did one plant, I think anyway, 3 times with no visual help. Here's a Northern Lights that was topped twice
