Mother of Berries, M.O.B. Maine Strain

Flowering: Day 50 (Week 8 Day 2) she's FATTENING right up! Gave her fresh distilled water yesterday. Chopped a Donkey Dick down and recycled plant by cutting it up and using it in other plants as mulch in an effort to maintain a rich soil mixture to the end and make the most of my crops. I didn't decarb any of the trim as I didn't feel it was appropriate for that particular plant. Slight CFL adjustments this morning.

Flowering: Day 50 (Week 8 Day 3) pistils are finally starting to amber. Very minor CFL adjustments. People talk a lot of crap about CFLs but I'm content with this development it's not much different imo of someone doing SCROG with MH, HPS, etc. I'm a small but content grower may add another set of CFLs but that's it. Working with wiring from the 50s have to be careful.

Looking really good mate you counting flower from flip or pistils

From Flip. I don't care what breeders or seed banks say. I count from flip and then just count until its done closely monitoring every aspect of the entire plant. When it's finished I have a record of approx how long the said strain takes (in this case MOB) and it allows me to tell people exactly from flip how long it took with some precision (as many factors can dramatically impact grow rate, size, etc.) and thank you for the compliment! Also, I Switch to bloom Nutes at flip but continue to provide coast of Maine: stonington blend plant food.

Nice mate I count both lol I too switch to bloom feed on flip got a good journal going on buddy I'm liking it ..

FWIW, I have 2 plants in bloom now, both from the same mom, both confirmed females, but the older one showed pistils on day 2, while the most recent showed pistils on day 8 in 12/12. This is why from 12/12 references can become misleading.

Hence the best argument is to say monitor from flip and watch until finished as there are always to many random variables for any grower to calculate a finished time or have any basis to approximate a time lapse. I guess it's a matter of methodology it all turns out the same as long as you do what needs to be done to keep plant in good health.

Flowering: Day 50 (Week 8 Day 4)
Major CFL adjustments this morning. Provided Bloom Nutes yesterday together with Coast of Maine: Stonington Blend plant food (kelp, lobster meal, etc) have been combatting some humidity, using a non-ozone air purifier in addition to fan air circulation to better control the air and has seemed to be working well. Music continued to be played every single day which is mostly radio stations played through a speaker (see a previous post on studies about music promoting plant growth). I just planted 6 seeds all a mystery strain as they were collected over time and was not told what they were. REMINDER: Rich journal will be posted after harvest.

Things are looking really tight in there, not the bad tight either. Even the popcorns are starting to fill out. Question, do you have an exhaust fan sucking from your tent?

Not using a tent, I grow in a pantry with aluminum foil on each wall. Door is wide open during the day with a box fan set to 2 to circulate air and an air purifier without UV on to circulate clean air in the pantry. At night the door shuts and only the fan runs circulation with a black sheet tacked to each side of door frame to minimize humidity, keep dark and trap c02 from home brew baking soda and vinegar drip.

Air extraction is especially needed at night when RH skyrockets. That's great your adding CO2 to help offset the heightened stress, but you should definitely look into exchanging the room air at night time.

I had the air purifier in the pantry at night for a short while but suppose I should get it back in there, didn't seem to do much at the time..I'll start that backup this evening and probably leave it in there here forth. I'm hoping to mod my home-brew C02 to work on a larger scale and of course improve efficiency. I'd like to add more light but with older lighting not sure which route to go as I'm slowly but surely expanding my grow op. MH/HPS Would be to much for this building to handle I think. I'll probably stick with Flo/CFL as they seem to work best for what I have going on. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

How long do you guys generally recommend on curing?
I recommend curing as long as possible. I noticed that even after I cured my first buds for 2 weeks that it got even better another 2 weeks later. The supposed max time is 6 months. Apparently they don't get any better after that. I'll be curing my second grow for at least 3 weeks without sampling. I'll have to smoke the larfy buds in the meantime

Flowering: Day 51 (Week 8 Day 5)
CFL adjustments this morning to accommodate bud sites and to provide better lighting under my canopy to enable further development of popcorn buds. Cola pistils continue to amber and recede. Planning a complete re-map my grow room for a larger grow with better equipment, more plants and greater efficiency.

Flowering: Day 52 (Week 8 Day 6)
CFL adjustments. Bloom Nutes added this morning. I noticed that this plant isn't having any issues (some Nute burn aside) whereas some other plants such as Donkey Dick in plastic pots seem to have some form of root PH issues. Will be buying more of these pots for my other plants.

I just smoked the Donkey Dick I harvested back a few weeks ago, pretty decent. I will say that it's so damn gratifying to smoke the bud that you grow.

PS - I know I didn't cure as long as I should have as I was anxious to try something I had done for a first time. I'm going to try and go for the full six month speculation that is when you reach max potency in cure. However, I'm probably gonna get messed up on December 15th and go see Star Wars (If anyone here is a fan, I recommend calling your local movie theatre and see when early purchase starts, I'm getting mine by mid November and skipping the lines)

Wanted a smart pot didn't feel like I wanted to wait. So I tried a cloth Walmart Bag. They seem comparable in breathability. I'm fully aware a Walmart bag isn't meant for growing but, it really seems to work just as efficiently (MOB is in a smart pot and seems equal to her growth rate).
