Mono's Perpetual Soil

Began opening up the girls a little bit today. Got half way through one of the Pineapple Chunks and realised it's going to be a total mission to open them up.

That said, a lot more bud-sites have seen the light now, so it should be worth it in the end. Once all five girls have been opened up that should fill the tent of it's horizontal space, so it should just be one session before I allow them to grow upwards naturally, other than controlling any serious stretchers that is.

I have been thinking about allowing the buds close to the outer walls grow slightly taller than the ones towards the centre, giving them more light. What do you guys think?

Go for a flat, even canopy?

Or, go for a canopy that slowly rises from the centre towards the outside walls?

:Namaste:

Has been a busy couple of days, not done anything to the ladies since the last attack at opening them up. I have let them get real dry so today I will give them a strong feed of flowering nutes.

Canna Terra Flores at 3/4 strength - 4ml/litre + PK 13/14 1ml/litre.

Not sure if I am going to hit them with a veg feed half way through or not. I want them to do the natural eating of the fan leaves, since cannabis should do that in the wild with it being an annual plant, that said, they have a good 10 or 11 weeks left to go so might hit them with a little N half way through :)

:Namaste:

Will have a massive picture update later on today, showing some training etc. The auto's that are left are still a little ways off being ready, although the flowers have began fattening up a bit more which is good.

Oh, I also got my 100x magnifying scope through the post yesterday so should be able to take some good shots of some trichs :high-five:

Some pics to keep things trooping along lol.

Green n clean matey... Lovely healthy plants..

That auto skunk looks the nuts mate... Looks like a dusting of icing sugar on that bush... Ummm loadsa trics'..

Have a great weekend fella.. May the last minute shopping pass with ease !!!

Thank you very much buddy! It looks amazing under the magnifying scope, just can't figure out how to get a decent picture from it.

Opened up the ladies a little more as planned. :thumb:

I made the decision to get the screen back in above the sage n sours. Weaved them through as best I could, will have another session at it tomorrow. Think I might have left it a little late, should have really got the screen in before the flip. If only I had a tent around twice the size... Anyway, once I got the screen in place, looking great 'n all, I realised I was a little pushed for space...

Looks like there is going to be another couple of training sessions during this pre-flowering stage :)

:Namaste:

What is your guys opinion on the sage n sours that are under the screen?

Not too sure If I have left it too late to fill out the screen with buds or not since the lights have been on 12/12 for a couple of days. Even if I don't fill the screen it should increase the yield, right? Or could it adversely affect the yield?

Would be great to get a bit of experience growing in the SCROG method as I would quite like to do a SCROG for the next round but having a screen covering most of the tent. Using only one or two monster plants haha.

I think the screens on the sages should be perfect mono, I had atleast 2x the stretch on the sages which took 2 and a half weeks to actually slow down and start on the afros. I would keep training until 1 week flower, then let the tops start pushing upwards. Personally I think it will help the yield but only if the training is done right. I noticed my canopy has kind of lost its touch ;) Try to keep the tallest and biggest branches running along the outside of the cages and the smaller bud sites towards the middle of the screen. I have a couple massive colas that are right in the middle of the screens which are eventually going to shade the 4-5 sites behind it, in return less yield :)
Everything is looking sweet Mono, hope those recently jarred meds give ya some good tasty smoke :Namaste:

Hey Mono,

just done some catch up. Awesome stuff as always there buddy.

Congrats on the harvest. It's great we're all running together for our next harvests.

Love comparing notes. :thumb:

Thanks mate, hopefully the harvest will see me and Mrs Mono through the christmas period, do another harvest for the new year haha.

How long are you going to be flowering? I'm looking at 10+ weeks from first pistils :high-five:

Thanks for the reassurance CA! Would be great if they can get close to filling the screen, looking for some experience in scrogging for future grows, if I can expand my indoor space ;). It would be great if it manages to help the yield, not too worried so long as it doesn't reduce it lol. I will keep the training aspect in mind, may be a bit hit and miss :thumb: With what you said in mind I am going to aim for the biggest branches to head towards the outer wall of the tent and I may just let them grow up from there once they hit..

The preliminary smoke tests of the Auto Super Skunk has been surprisingly pleasant, considering my scepticism of auto flowering cannabis plants. I would say after a week or two curing they will rival photo plants for potency, however, the yield leaves a little to be desired given the 600 watt hps :)

:Namaste:
