the leaf damage appears to be nutrient burn, how many millilitres per gallon and of what are you feeding your plant?

5ml per liter of canna terra vega. Half strength feed every second watering

So, this morning I tackled the task of trimming and transplanting the clones that were taken during my last round of flowering.

Here is what they started as

Note the strange leaves. I'm guessing this is due to the confusion of being cloned on week 5 of 12/12. The top growth is nice and lush, the way it should be.


So the aim is to remove all the old, damaged looking lower growth. Leaving a clear stem and just a few healthy leaves on top.

So now that she is all cleaned up and looking better. It's time to transplant her into a larger pot.

Finish that off by topping off with around an inch of perlite. (This is a preventative measure against the fungus gnats I had on my previous journal)

The task was repeated on all the clones that had been taken during flowering.

I also transplanted the Double Berry mother to be into a 10 litre pot. An upgrade from the 4 litre she was sat in before.

And finally I finished up by giving them all a generous feed of canna terra vega at a very mild 1ml/litre (1/10 manufacturers recommended dose.) And put them back under the lights.

Has anyone got experience with taking clones in week 5 of 12/12? Any ideas when I can expect them to begin decent vegetative growth?

Grow tent temps and relative humidity.

Everything seems to be going to plan. I think I will give the clones around a month of veg before putting them under the hps and begin the beautiful flowering phase.

Got a question for you guys out there. Plants are currently vegging under 400watts of 6400k cfl. Would it be beneficial for me to add an extra 90watts of 2700k cfls?

Hello mate. I think it is not necessary, benefits are doubtful, 400W are enough for your clones, methinks.

It's been about 24 hours now since everything had a severe trim and transplant. Everything is looking healthy. Hopefully in the next couple of days we will begin to see some considerable new growth.

I think I might lower the lights down by an inch or so more to see if that will make any difference.

CFL's make next to no heat so cooling is not an issue. I was just curious as to the benefit of adding the lights considering they are of the wrong spectrum for veg.

In other words, is the extra cost of electricity worth while, or would the benefit be minimal at best.

600 watt hps we will be using for flowering. It's in a grow tent that is 2m x 2m x 2m. Got two oscilating fans for air movement. Extractor fan and carbon filter (not yet connected up) Will probably not be using the filter as have been growing in this house for nearly two years now and smell has not been an issue.
