Hey Mono, when you scrog, you fill your screen all the way before flip? How far your tops go over the screen before you flower
I've never grown using a scrog.
The closest I have come is by way of using a screen as a training aid. I start off the plant the same as everyone else, begin low stress training early and keep the LST going right up to the second week of flowering.
Once the plant becomes big, and tying down individual branches is taking a long time, I bring out the screen.
I simply lay the screen on top of the plant, being sure to pull all the main branches horizontally. Leave her like that for 24 hours then lift the screen off again. Repeat as necessary.
Scrog is a heck of a lot of work, and I really just can't be bothered with it.
Growing big plants like this takes literally 10 minutes of care each day - I pour the nutrient solution onto the medium, have a look at the plant, remove any dying leaves. Take some pics and zip the tent back up. Compare that with, tucking, bending, tying, defol etc that needs to be done every day to manipulate a scrog... For what usually gives a lower yield... Just doesn't make sense to me.
Scrogs are great if you have serious height limitations, but I'm not 100% convinced they improve yield when height isn't an issue.
Once every two weeks or so she gets a good bit of care (transplant, defol etc) The second week of flowering on this one needed a bit of training, some supercropping etc. All that's left is one more defol and some lower growth to be removed, then kick back for 40 days and give the plants in veg some love
