Mojuan's Indoor Hydro Grow Journal Dec 2019

Week 1
Germinated 12 Black Russian seed and all are up. Waiting on my z7 for my reservoir but all is ready and able to move on.

i had a small set back, put a fan on the girls and dried out the root riot plugs, still making rookie mistakes. They came back a little bit and i think they will do better in the system, transplanted tonight and hand watered with 1/2 strength nutes. does anyone have experience with PH'ing water with nutes in a reservoir? RO water was 6.2 and my doser brought it back down to 5.8, added nuets and it went down to 5.5, i know 5.8 is the sweet spot so should i put my nutes in first then dose up? with the automatic doser?

ok, nobody told me this was going to be a full time job, lol. re-planted all the root riot cubes into their forever buckets. turned on all 6 Mars Hydro sp250's ( shameless plug ). had everything dialed in at 74 degrees and RH at 45, went out to the shed an hour later and for some reason and the temp was 86 degrees. I had to turn on the air conditioner to cool it down. 1 vs 6 light = more heat DUH! went and checked 2 hours later and were back to 74 degrees. BUT! now it looks like im light burning the little girls, should i turn off 2 and just light with 4. The lights are more than 36" above them. The footprint for veg 3x5 and flower 2x4. I'm probably answering my own question. The pic's follow because they're on my phone and I'm on the puter.

Put the timer on the girls 18-6
Hey man I found you again. I will figure this website out one day I swear.
Is this a recirculating system?
R there feed lines??
R you manually top feeding at this stage??
Have you got your res treatment yet??
Enjoy man if I stop coming over here tag me in because sometimes notifications quit coming my way. Play safe and enjoy

This is normal and if it’s dropping to 5.5 after after adding nutrient at this stage of life is fine. Mine will do the exact same but within 24 hrs start to climb back up.
I don’t run a ph controller for veg and it climbs steadily 24 hr after mixing through the veg cycle. I knock it down to 5.5 or 5.6 and let it slide to 6.0 then knock it back down. I do this almost every day in veg.
If I had to guess based on my situation I would set the controller for ph down at 5.8 then mix it will drop to 5.5 and the controller will do nothing until it climbs up 24 to 48 hrs later. Then it shouldkeep it at 5.8 until you res change. Again this is based on my nutrient and water chemistry

I'm still learning too lol, i did figure out how to tag people though.
it is a closed system, no feed lines per say, it floods up through the bottom of the buck then gravity feeds back to the brain bucket then back to the res.
i was manually feeding but kind of messed up because i used the res water knowing i had issues with the res. started watering with straight RO water from the top.
i did get the water treatment stuff but had already opened the Clear Rez so I'm using it first. i did empty the res and filled with tap water and ph'ed it. when the pumps started circulating the water it was flushing out the water in the chiller first ...... lets just say i have to flush a couple more times, I'm giving each flush 24 to 36 hours. going through the first flush now and ill flush today, when the temps get warm enough to turn the hose on.
I'm learning so i going to make mistakes, i have to take it serious as to what's most important. sometimes what i dont think is very important is very important lol. so far my self proclaimed nickname is Killa, because i haven't grown shit. it will get better, i have the tools now i have to figure out how to use them with a little bit of knowledge, hell some people have PH'ds on how to grow shit. lol hang in there with me it might be a wild ride

thanks, because i didn't want to change my ph down to up then back again i needed to know tendencies.

All good I will strap myself in lmao. If hand watering with RO you may need a bit of cal/mg in there.

A few pics of the good , bad and ugly. First res went to hell in a handbasket, flushed 1x so far, going to run another flush thru tomorrow. Then back to nuets and better eye on what's going on.

The root riot has something on the top of it but I think it's when I was top feeding with bad res water. Onward and upwards

When the res pump kicks on and fills the buckets at what level will it shut off in relation to the net pots?

I have it set pretty high, 3/4 full maybe, 4x a day for 45 minutes, I takes about 15 minutes to fill and drain and 15 minutes soaking, too much?

Honestly no idea I’m just trying to picture how this system is working.
Ok, I'll try to explain as best as a can. I have a res, hooked up to a brain bucket, the brain bucket has floats inside it, the floats are hooked up to a timer. Everything is gravity flow so the pots never get any higher than what in the brain bucket, everything is leveled. There's a pump in the res and 1 in the brain bucket.
