MMRC's Continuious Hydro Grow - Church-Lemon Skunk-PPP-OG Kush-GWS & More

Re: MMRC's Continuious Hydro Grow - Church-Lemon Skunk-PPP-OG Kush-GWS & more.

Makes me wnat to move to the IE. Even with the Santa Anna's blowing today. lol :bravo:Great Job Brother. :peace:

I use to live towards the base of the mountain in north Rancho Cucamonga. Those damn Santa Anna winds were no joke. I few times I seriously thought they were going to blow my windows in on my house. I had a pool too. Im so glad that I didnt have to clean that sucker. I also ride a motorcycle some times. The wind was always blowing me around on it. I couldnt wait to get the hell out of the IE riding that thing. The wind made me lean to about a 45 degree angle while riding on the freeway. One time it almost swept the bike out of underneath me on the freeway. The 210 freeway. Crazy stuff. Im a little ways away from that now, but riding my bike through those winds was some scary sh*t.

Looks like PM or Spider Mites (anything on the underside).

Pit has the info on PM (Powdery Mildew)

SF

No... nothing on the underside. I'll just get a little nat or mosquito in my room every once and a while noting more. It is powdery. Like someone went in the and put little spots of baby powder on my leaves or something.

I'll hit up Pit.

I have a new BBQ sitting on my patio. I didn't have the wheels locked and it blew it all the way to the end of the patio and off into the grass. Fun in the sun. :peace:

ok... so I found the new journal! And on top of that, figured out how to subscribe lol.

So I was reading that you were wondering about the fluffiness of your bud... the only thing I can really put my opinion on is that its just a hydro thing. The few hydro grows I've had the chance to smoke from have always been super fluffy and light. You could take what appeared to be a reasonably sized bud and cram it into a smaller bowl. I'm not sure if its the nute make-up, or just the way the plant reacts to a constant water-based feeding schedule. Either way, I wouldn't worry about it. You're getting such nice Trich growth on them that the potency is quite high. I've read that molasses adds reasonable weight, thickness, and smoothness to the smoke... though I'm not entirely sure you can use that via hydroponics. Anways... looking good, as always

You shouldn't use molasses in hydro, but they do have hydro equivalents.

MMRC...sure looks like powdery mildew to me.

Re: MMRC's Continuious Hydro Grow - Church-Lemon Skunk-PPP-OG Kush-GWS & more.

Yeah... it is powdery mildew. Now Im just trying to figure out how to prevent it. I know how to get rid of it now (thanks Pit), but how to I keep it from coming back in the future? Im completely clueless on this one. My RH levels are very low, with plenty of air movement. From what I know, mildew is produced when there is moisture. So if anyone could help on the prevention of this, I'd really appreciate it.

WestMIGuy..... the fluffy buds was a issue from some of my patients. Some liked it because it looked like way more and others didnt like it because they said it burned too fast. McBudz gave me a solution to it, when it comes to the drying part of it. So I have a harvest coming up in about 2 more weeks, so we'll see how that goes, but I really think it was just my drying techniques.

Do you foliar spray? PM can also be strain prone. And PM thrives where high rates of nitrogen have been used.

Sounds pretty isolated in your case.

No foliar spray. I dont spray my flowering plants at all. I'll mist my vegg'ing plants with pure (2 ppm) water, but thats it. No chemical go on my plants at all. The problem is only in flowering though too.

What did he say about the drying part? I will be at that stage in 1-2 weeks. Was wondering what tips anyone had.

Well... I hung dried my for about a week straight in a pretty dry closet with light air movement. Since my buds werent all that compact to begin with, they got a little too dry. I used the "if the stem snaps, instead of bends" method to figure out when they were done. Well... that didnt seem to work out very well for me. The buds were WAY TOO dry. I had to stick an orange peel inside my glass jars to moisten them up a little.

Anyway.... McBudz said to hang dry them for 48 hours, then bring them down, take the buds off the stems and place them in paper bags, all piled on top of each other, with about half of the paper bag full. Then every hour or two he said to open up the bag and give it a nice shake. Then close it back up and continue that process for the next week or more.

So I have a test bud that Im going to try it out on. Im going to throw it in a bag that has dry buds in it and see how it turns out, just for a kinda test run because doing my entire crop like that. Im sure it works great, but I gotta give it a test drive.

Here's a picture of the bud Im testing it on. This is from one of my OG Kush plants. The bud is about 2-3 inches long.

what strain is it? More of a head high, or body buzz? If its a head high... pick her now! If you want that amazing narcotic body buzz, and the strain is known for it... I'd wait till 75% of them are amber :)

75% of them are amber??? Wow... I never heard anyone pick them at that point. Amber is a sign that your THC levels are beginning to degenerate.

I think Im going to have to stick with the way I've been doing it. 80% milky white, 10% clear and 10% amber.

Everything I've ever read, has told me that the milky white trichome heads are a sign of the THC production being at its peak. Amber is a sign of degeneration of the THC.

I'm after a combination of the two of them. Narcotic and Head High. The strain above is Lemon Skunk. A Sativa dominant with high CBD levels, so it starts off as a nice head high and then 30-45 minutes later, you end up buried in your couch ready to take a nap.

looking really good, mate. happy harvest; I love the music on you YT video.

Looking good bud! That strain sounds great "all head then 30 min later buried in the couch". :grinjoint:

Yeah. Im not a big fan of smoking and then going to sleep. I like to stay awake and enjoy it. My Pure Power Plant had me up until 3am last night. Running around with heavy CO2 tanks and going up and down the stairs... I love that stuff. It gives you a strong head high, and its totally energetic. You can smoke it in the morning or the middle of the day and not have to worry about it wrecking your day by putting you to sleep. I cant wait for my Kali Mist and my Super Lemon Haze.
