So out of curiosity @Backlipslide @MrSauga @Emilya @InTheShed @bluter @Davef @West Hippie and anyone else I've forgotten that might be using mc.
Could you please post here a picture of your bag of mc AND what the mc itself looks like? Just for comparison sake. Ill do the same when I get home this evening.

I know the sample i had was quiet different to the large bag i am now into.

Here you go. Newest version of MC.

i only have a pic of it in the jar i use to store smaller amounts

and the gelatinous mess if it gets wet

mine still has the calcium balls. don't have a shot of the contents but this is the ingredient list

it's from a version 2 bag but that doesn't mean much.

I don't want to show the name so I'll just paste the back panel. It's the same front except it says 9-6-14.

I'm pretty sure I have the same as bluter, with the white balls and the brown powder. Since I bought the 22lb bag and dumped the contents into different containers I don't have the original package, but it's v2 as I recall. Turns into the same gelatinous mess that smells like poop if left out at high RH.

Looks like cement!
So much conflicting info around mc. And yet I've had nothing but great results with it so far. I guess time is the only real test here
I think the issue surrounding MC was that it became an overnight sensation because it worked reasonably well, was pretty cheap, and was only one thing to mix. It then took on an aura as the magic bullet with folks claiming all sorts of things about it that weren't true. It won't make for better harvests than any other correctly-used quality nute line. But people starting out thought that the road to great plants ran through MC.

Turns out that like any other nutrient system: you still have to figure out the best way to apply it to your grow.

And then they change it!

Sorry for the call to action then going MIA!

Holy cow yesterday sure was.... a day. And a long one. Gwhiz.

My first batch of mc was a sample size and had the large balls and brownish tan powder. I unfortunately don't have any pics of it.

My new batch is a 22lb bag and seems to be the newer version like @Davef and @bluter and @Backlipslide 's

You can see a few of the "little balls" in the pics, those are from the very last of my first batch that I mixed into this gallon size jar of the new mix.

About to head out for work, should be a short day though hopefully, will update later today on plants!

Hope everyone has a great day! And thanks for all the responses! Was just curious to see all the different formulations of mc floating around out there!

Oh, here's my pic of the gelatinous poop mess it turns into  :laughtwo::rofl: poop. I swear I'm not 12. Lmao!

Does it fully dissolve in water? I'm wondering cause I'd like to try MC. I mix up a weeks worth of nutes at a time and autofeed from a 40 gallon bin. If stuff doesn't fully dissolve it determines how much I agitate it in the bin with a circulation pump.

Today's squeezins!

Cement shoes. 3.5gs flower -> .58gs rosin from the first press, another maybe .02 from the second. Didn't weigh the second bit. Took the temp down to 180, the color is much nicer, the consistency is also perfect!

I am assuming that my yield would be a wee bit higher if the buds were fresher, from what I'm hearing, right after drying, before curing is the optimal time to press. This flower is over a month curing now. So there's that. Ill take it though. Learn a little every day!

I've heard 62 for pressing, 58 for joints/bowls ect.

The nugs i squished and all my cement shoes is at 58 for smoking. So that alone is hurting my yield. So my 15-17%ish doesn't seem too bad all things considered.

About to check out the link you have there

I can't fit enough joints in my mouth at one time, and 62% is perfect for that. For those that like it a bit drier, you take the bud out and let it sit for an hour... violin! Works for smoker's who like a drier bud, but also keeps them fresher in the jar.

Soooo i went down hard yesterday, got food poisoning, and was in bad bad shape. To the extent I even caved and let my wife take me to the er for fluids. Couldn't even keep the smallest amounts of water down. Finally back on the mend after what seemed like forever!

Gotta get down in the tents today, the big girls need a feeding, and I still have a couple that need up potted
