Re: Method 420- Rescue And Grow A Cup Winner- Gorrilla Glue #4

you guys give me the push I need to get my boots on and get my rear end up and into the garden, thanks for that and the kind words.
I hope all your gardens do well and give you a great sense of satisfaction like mine always have.
Shouldn't be too much longer to see some resin glands and then we'll know

Cool, nice to meet ya growlow

Other than taking the kiddos to the show theres not much going on until tonight when the lights come on.

Yesterday our water supply was interrupted and later it was back on, problem is once it came back on everything was stirred up and now I have to use the RO, so Im going to go grab a new 55 gallon blue rain barrel and a 1/4" float

sling, just a suggestion, I would let the water run for awhile before hooking up the RO unit, to try to get to some clean water. As is, you risk the dirty water ruining the membrane. The same exact thing happened to me. My RO went from 100GPD to about 5GPD. The only cure was all new cartridges, including a new membrane.

You guys got any suggestions for cheap way to collect large amounts of water from my RO filter under kitchen sink. As of now just filling up gallon milk jugs, have about 15, but it becoming a REAL pain with the larger reservoirs and bigger plants going through lots of water in the hot greenhouse, supposed to be in 100's next week :(

Go to home depot and get the white, plastic 1/4" ice maker line.

Get a 1/4" float valve. Any reef aquarium shop will have it, also amazon. Looks like this:

The moderator will re-upload this image :ciao: The image uploader isn't working right now, so there we go.

You can run the ice maker line thru the floor to your basement, or where ever your water reservoir is. I've used this system, incident free for a couple years. Always have 15 gallons on hand.

Thanks Capn, I will have to see what I can about getting in my crawl space.

Maybe easier to end up moving RO filter to bathroom that shows wall with my room and punch small hole from under sink into closet.

great advice Capn , +reps bro

my RO unit is in my bathroom under the sink but would be impossible to run a permanent line so I have back a up res. that's connected to the system with a float valve . I have a 25' extension line I run into the grow room to fill couple times a week. :)

Re: Method 420- Rescue And Grow A Cup Winner- Gorrilla Glue #4

Has anyone ever used (or heard of the use of) a regular water filter fore the RO unit? I once had the need to plumb a a sink for drinkable water in a garage and in that area the water quality was poor so I went to the the blue hardware store and got 2 of these for $20 each. The water quality greatly improved and if my city's water supply was harder, I would have installed it before my RO unit as well.

Well, I would think it would only impact the life of your filters and membrane by filtering it before the RO can do it. Whether it's enough to measurably increase the life of them I cannot say, but I doubt it would affect the water quality.

its called a prefilter and they work great in area's with really bad water to protect your membrane. :)

That is insane. I could NEVER do that, at least nowadays. I have real bad knee/ lower left leg from car accident I had when I was 2.5 years old. Had surgery on knee/ leg 10-15 times since then. Here at 42 probably going to do knee replacement later this year. Hard to even play with the puppy. I remember the days of gorilla growing in Hawaii in the 90's, was schlepping 40 gallons of soil and 5 gallon water jugs up and down gorges no more of that for me.
