Quite the difference! Any ideas?

Just a suggestion...try taking off the huge fans to spur some new growth. Better light penetration too!
Nope. I have no idea why Blueberry's roots are so sparse. They're a little brown too, but they smell like wet dirt, not rot. It's weird that she's been growing so well, but has roots like that.
They're getting on my nerves, so I probably will take them off, but I'll have to watch the lowest leaves after them to make sure it's not an ongoing issue.
It doesn't look like it is, but I'm not in a rush or anything.
Wow, fascinating Mel!
And confusing!
Very healthy roots great work melville 🤙
I agree on the Zkittlez, but the roots on Blueberry aren't what I was expecting!
Roots for dayzzzzzzz.

♥️♥️♥️
Thanks Tra!

When I see a big difference in root development I have pinned it on genetics. Some plants are just rootin' tootin' and others not so much. They all seem to keep growing though.

Sweet sounds like same as what I had mine at such a good light the xs2000. Great work.
Sorry for missing this earlier!
Thanks GF!
I'm really liking it so far!
Nice upcans, but now your just messing with us on pot placement in there.
Dolores is still in this tent for the evening! I left them in their usual spots, although for the next little while until I harvest Dolores I'll be switching their spots as there is a hot spot in the centre of the tent. I don't want them to get too uneven.

Good point GDB. The Blueberry is still growing well, so I'm not too concerned. I just don't like unexplained anomalies. We'll see if it develops into a problem.

I know I’m the lone wolf on this, and that’s okay, but I have never been root driven with house plants, and I’m not root driven with MJ. I am foliage driven. I think your foliage tells you whether your plants are happy or not.

Roots to me are like veins in the body. You don’t actually need them all for peak health. As long as you have enough to circulate blood, you’re golden. It only becomes a problem when you look down and your feet are swelling, or turning purple.

I only get excited over root pics coz you guys get excited lol.

They're looking pretty happy right now. I did end up trimming the fans. They don't seem to have noticed, so that's good.
I have been watering small amounts leading from the edge of the old soil out towards the edges of the pots to get the roots to chase it.

I really didn't pay too much attention to roots until a few years into growing cannabis. I started to pay attention to them because when I transplant them I started to notice things like places the roots hadn't filled, or spots where the roots looked strange, like nodules kind of like galls. I started to compare what I was doing with those plants to ones where the roots were looking vigorous and healthy, and started changing things I was doing to get them as healthy as I could. It really did help me get better.
It won't help everyone, and it only helps when I'm still transplanting them, or when they're in plastic pots. Since these plants are now in their final fabric pots it'll be foliage and above ground growth I'll be watching.

Not much to say today. There are light spots on some of the leaves, so I think I need to up the watering to get the roots out into the new soil.

Training looks great! Much easier on the eyes now too. :)
Thanks Shed!
I'll be adding some more carhooks tonight.
Simply beautiful.
Thanks OG!

I have a problem. All three Blueberry cuttings have rooted (including the top), and at least two of the Zkittlez cuttings have roots as well (not the top so far).
It's a good problem to have, but I'll have to find growers to take some of them.
I didn't take pics of the clones tonight, but I will if you'd like me to.

You have two beautiful plants there Mel and thy aree bboth training out so well!
Thanks Carmen!
I knew from previous grows that Blueberry takes well to this sort of training, but since this is the first time I've grown Zkittlez I'm glad to see it taking it well too!
Good morning el Beardo :)

Omg they look so much happier! They are BIG SMILING! Good job! I knew you could do it.
Thanks Tra!
They do look a lot better without those crispy fans on there!

All three Blueberry clones have been put into soil, as have all three of the rooted Zkittlez clones. There are two more Zkittlez cuttings still waiting on roots.
The tops of both have rooted, and been put into soil.

Taking well to that flattening, and

Yes please!
There you go Shed!

Picture perfect. Love the different expression of genetics in each plant. I can't even pick a favourite.

Bit of a calcium deficiency showing up on the Blueberry again. Looks like I'll have to switch out the mag nitrate for calmag.
It's a 3-0-0 calmag, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Beautiful roots! It's a good year for cloned tops. :high-five:
Looks like it!
I was 1 for 3 in 2022, now 2 for 2 so far in 2023. I wonder how the Summer Grow will go?

I'm looking forward to flower again!
I'm also hoping the Zkittlez has a more indica style stretch despite her sativa growth so far.
I don't want to have to raise her up!

Omg what an improvement!

Love always gets rewarded… look it doesn’t, but it sounded very earth mother, Magic Happensy/Everything Happens for a Reasony in my head.

This is the time of year when the urge to start more seeds kicks in.
I'll be starting my pepper seeds next month (the superhots take forever and a month to grow) and I always get the itch to throw in a weed seed or two at the same time.
I know it'll be a mistake, but I still want to do it, lol!
Kinda surprising how often those go together.
