Meffa's Fall 2022 Organic Soil 5-Way Variety

Today is Friday 25-Nov-2022 || 80F 55%RH || 67 days old || 2 days since watering

After my last post I decided it was time and set the plants off on 30hrs of darkness between veg and flower, and wow do they look like they got a boost! The lights just can on and they are praying pretty hard. This is my first time giving extended darkness before the flip and from what I'm seeing this is going to stay in my toolbox moving forward. :slide:

If you like stuffing and Italian sausage you have to try sometime, really easy to make. We use hot sausage and it adds so much flavor I'm ready for some now!

I did a little wake and bake in the greenhouse this morning with the Mighty+. Guessing the Pax isn't going to see a lot of use now! I ordered some spare parts to have on hand and the capsule thing to preload flower cartridges. I'm hoping that works out, would be really nice for taking it on trips. Are you familiar with that accessory?

Oh good it came and you like it! I was hoping! I haven't tried the caps. Let me know. I have one or two but haven't put them to work. A good sausage stuffing is the best! I, however am dogshit at making it. You have a written recipe you wouldn't mind sharing?

My wife makes the stuffing and I'm pretty sure she just sauté's the sausage up and adds it to her typical stuffing. Bianco's sausage is really good if you see near you.

OMG, the Mighty is awesome! I can't believe I'm just getting on that bandwagon. Thanks for the tip!

Today is Sunday 27-Nov-2022 || 80F 55%RH || Day 2 Flower|| 0 Days Since Watering

I watered the gang today and started them off with a tea I had brewing for a couple of days with worm castings, terp tea, and the same high-P amendments I have mixed into the soil. I've never added the amendments to teas I've brew in the past so this is unchartered territory. This is as far as I'm going to go with monkeying around when it comes to watering.

I swapped LA Confidential and Gelato OG to keep them with same height plants.

Here we have Girl Scout Cookies top left, LA Confidential top right, and Acapulco Gold at the bottom.

They're more beautiful every day! Nice light mitigation on the heater!
 
The seedlings for round 2 were starting to bust out of the their red cups so they got an upgrade tonight to 1gl pots. Bubba Kush has about a 20% chance of making it, she just never really grew out of the gate but I'm going to try and make a project out of her. Everyone else is doing really well and as usual it's going to be hard to let any go.....

Ooh spray foam! I found some with rodent repellent in it! The things I didn't think I needed but can't do without!

Today is Saturday 03-Dec-2022 || 81F 55%RH || Day 8 Flower|| 1 Days Since Watering || 1 Days Since Top Dress w/GeoFlora Bloom

The gang is moving along and loving life! I watered yesterday and stuck to the routine of moistening the surface with my pump sprayer that had Silica, Fulvic Acid, and Epsom Salts before hitting it with filtered water out of the hose. Not only is watering right out of the hose easier, but I think using filters to remove chlorine/chloramine vs the R/O I used the last couple of grows is paying off. Everyone is looking as happy as can be and LA Confidential looks like a Venus Flytrap with the way her new growth comes in standing straight up. Not sure I've had a plant that seems so lively before. I also need to do some defoliating to open things up in the middle a bit, maybe tomorrow......

The seedling are coming along nicely too and a couple look prehistoric with the size of their leaves. OMG, Do-Si-Dos, and God Father OG are battling to see who wins the biggest leaf contest. I'm not going to keep track of their age simply because it doesn't matter as they'll be in veg for about 2 months and will hit flower when that tent is free.

You're too kind, Trala! Inside the tents are pretty neat, outside not as much....... :p I'm in the basement of my house that was built in 1875, but it works for me! Wish I had more height though.

1875?! That sounds so lovely. Too lovely not to honour it by keeping it clean lol.

I love the thought of a basement. We don’t have basements or attics here. Not as a rule anyway.

As far as the height thing. Have you seen carcass’s grow? He has low wide plants. He trains with these hook things he makes which I patented as “Carhooks”. They changed the way I grow.

I've seen the Zskittles plant that he grew and it's amazing, but I haven't looked close enough at the training. I bought something that sounds like the hooks you're talking about but I haven't used them yet. It's called OG Spring. I need to check carcass's training close up.
 
Today is Wednesday 07-Dec-2022 || 85F 55%RH || Day 12 Flower|| 0 Days Since Watering || 5 Days Since Top Dress w/GeoFlora Bloom

Yesterday I got down to business and did a major defoliation of all the lower nodes that weren't going to amount to much. That first defoliation is always the hardest but once I got going everything fell into place. So far I like what I'm seeing and what I'm not (powdery mildew) and hope they continue like they are. 🙏

Much longer node spacing on Acapulco Gold with her Sativa genes than the others. She's also the tallest by an inch or three and I just raised the lights over this trio, might have an inch or so left and that's it. With my lights 21" is max recommended for a 3x3 area like they're taking up and I think I'm around 22" to the AG right now. The stretch is slowing and hopefully they don't grow much closer. Last year I think I had two Grand Daddy Purple's 19" away and there was some bleaching going on, though the product was (still is!) fantastic. That was my first time going solely with LED's, prior grows I mixed in two 325w CMH's but they get too hot and the product was better with just LED's.

Next runs seedlings are exploding since their up-pot to 1gl containers. I'm going to keep them in the 1gl pots as long as I can to slow things down a little. The 4x4 is going to get really busy when they move to 3gl pots. Little Bubba Kush who didn't look to stand a chance has risen from the ashes and is fast becoming part of the team.
