Mcloadie's Second Grow Journal

Good evening MC and all. Your girls are looking really nice. It's getting close and all will be happy. There is going to be some serious weight when you harvest. :thumb:

Still never got the cones, or 420 nug jar..

Hi Vick074,

I'll make this quick because I don't want to hijack the topic too much. I just wanted to publicly apologize to you. When I looked into why you hadn't received your nug jar package, I found that I had forgotten to get them shipped out for that month. Totally my fault and I'm really, really sorry for that. Your package (as well as the packages for the 2 other contest winners for February) were shipped out yesterday so you should be receiving it within the next couple days.

Sorry for the hijack, Mcloadie!

:Namaste:

A fine smoke to you and Loadie hope you have a great weedend:):circle-of-love:

Sorry, pics are kinda crappy. Plants are showing a little tiredness, the pow 33's have been nute free for two weeks already and I thought they would surely be finished by now. They are exhibiting veinal chlorosis, and will look like hell before they finish. The mexikush is doing well........I'm calculating when to shut the nutes down....maybe another week, maybe two!

I took the bottom out of this plant...the tahoe....the others will get the haircut within a coupla days....these plants are 2" from the light and I'm gonna pull the stands out today and give em 2-1/2 more inches. I was two weeks early starting these plants, but the triple sixteen fertilizer has blown away anything I've used before.....it was an accident coming upon this fertilizer, I went to the grow store looking for something to replace my piss treatments and this is what my friendly grow store owner suggested. In the course of this piss replacement I came up with a whole different strategy, and it is about time I tried some non organic growing experience.

heya Mc so im really interested in your thoughts on that expensive induction light, what do you think of it vs hps? man that freshwater shrimp/lobster makin my mouth water and remembering my grandmothers cajun gumbo with heavy amounts of dads &cayenne pepper, sadly she did not teach mom or i the recipe,, the ladies are looking good,i was running out of my bpn organics and having problems getting the ph below 9 without killing off the micro herd with ph acid, so i switched back to the reg bpn "high yeild sys" and things are looking superb now, i love the organics but till i can lower ph organicly i need some results im still using plenty of organic goodies like azomite root magic, seaweed and so on, so i can relate to your trying new nutes, i tried the pee thing at 1cup to a gallon but in my closet i was using i could smell pee so i scrapped that plan couple yrs ago ,but it does work well on outdoor stuff, ok nuff babbeling:thumb:

Hey bid.....NOT babbling........I'm listening intently.........I have been experimenting with adjusting Ph with fruit juices...the kind they give away at the food banks in mass quantity that no one drinks.....I was trying to drop the ph of a bucket of nutes ect., I have a feeling that It balanced back out cuz of the mychos I added, but it dropped it like crazy when I first added it....just an idea.....As for the induction light...the juries still out, I want to get a 1k hps in there for a run...I never used anything but the induction......my current thoughts are this; I would appreciate more penetration, the yield is well...IDK til I run hps and see. My friend whos runnin a 400 watt hps, can't come close to what I do with the induction, but I'm not pushin that rig, and if I was I am sure I could get more than he does. He says he wants more, and wants to progress, but it seems like too much effort to stabilize and maintain the environment....and you know me...I'm a fundamental kind of guy......how can I help when everything is suspect? I hear ya on the pee, I don't do it normally, but as an expedient measure it has it's place in my line up!

i had a huge jump in weight going from a crapload of cfls to a 400 same amount of watts well actually i was running 428cflwatts then again with the dual 600s i always suggest to ppl that if you want a 1k,consider 2 600s reasons, more total wattage, redundancy if you lose a bulb or ballast your plants wont be screwed,,more area coverage,,600 watt bulbs are the most efficent and put out the most lumens per watt, even more so than a 400 or induction,,less heat you can get them much closer to the plants making up for any advantage in lumens the 1k has, thats my reasoning for doing duals, another notable fact is it seems that the only growers that are convinced 1k is better is american growers, 600s are far more used in the uk ,holland etc, i read all this stuff when i was researching what to get when it came time to step it up, just food for thought, jmho, 1k lights certainly work well, your buddy should try a scrog with a 400 i got one of my biggest harvests in a 2x4 screen/tent and 4 plants 9zips dry! i would do it again if i could get down on my knees but thats not possible, i have no kneecaps cant even kneel on a bed or pillow, ttyl

Oh yeah, two 600s is more efficient! Bro, have you ever seen those roll around like mechanic seats? I used to have one that had a bad ass motorcycle seat on it. Ya know it sucks that the industry seems to simply be focused on getting all our mone, rather than giving us what we want. I'm thinking about contacting a friend of mine and having him engineer and build a ballast for me. This guy is smart, and he says until you get into spacecraft electronics, most of everything available both in design and functionality is made to use up our money, fail often, and is just poorly engineered. I'm tellin you this guy is smart, I saw him take apart a 2 million dollar aircraft accessory, figure out how it worked, and then draft a repair scheme that would cover any possible failure that could happen and get it approved by the faa.
I know a shitload of professionals into the electronic field...........All the technology in your television could be put on the tip of a needle, and it could perform better! The earth is such a strange place......better to visit than to reside!

If I get two 600's, then I could get a little bigger footprint....expand a little....oh crap bid!, just like I've been doin...LOL....Might as well seal the house and blow the whole thing out!....LOL

Great looking plants, should make for a good harvest. Like to listen to the discussion about the lights....HPS vs. induction lighting. Don`t know squat about induction lighting, i`m using 2 DS 300`s. My LED`s do a great job. On grow #4. Just finishing some autos... not happy with the yield. On my big girls I averaged 4-6 oz`s apiece. Made me happy, don`t know if any other lighting system could equal or better it.

Peace & Great Growin`

OK Fishy, I put some corn meal and an airstone in there, now waddyeye do? I just boiled em and ate em before, always right on the creekbank! These mudbugs are showin mcloadie some love...that was two traps 6 feet apart. I didn't think the creek had that many.

That's like a 40 gallon tote and a 6" airstone so you can see how big they got. LOL, that's the res to my aerocloner.....5 gallon bucket just too stacked up!

Sure glad I dont have a problem with those kind of bugs all over my plants lol.

Those are much easier to deal with than mites. You just get a predatory McLoadie and they will be gone in no time. :biglaugh:
