Mcloadie's Second Grow Journal

good weed to you Mc:)
this shall be my new greeting:thanks:

Alot of hairs on those buds. My sativas does the same thing half way threw flower. I always thought I was doing something wrong with feeding them. Then I just settled with blaming it on genetics.

Yep, the mexikush is way less hairy, I remember back in the day we used to say " wow, look at all the hairs, this is gonna be good"....LOL....At times I want to say the plant is self - defoliating....LOL......The buds doubled on the mexikush in the last 2 days, this is a fun plant to grow........it speeds up and then like rests, then takes off again. this is the first run of these seeds I produced, I am pleased so far, and I have the seeds from every cross so If it gets where I'm not liking it, i can go back and go in a different direction.

Good Weed McLoadie (and Fishy and others ) :Namaste:

Awesome bro, I've been told multiple times the higher temps are appreciated until you get roots over 1/4" then you gotta chill em quick or you get an added bonus. I dont have the URL but there is a thread here that shows how to convert a cheapo 15 minute timer into a seconds timer. If you cycle the pump say 1 minute on 5 mis off the pump will get ample time to cool off and I'd bet your res. temps would get closer to the mid 70's. I know it did when I hooked mine up to my greenhouse controller on its pump timer (24 Hour)

If you guys need cycle timers, I really like the 2 CT-1's I bought recently. Only ~$30 online. Cheaper than the old style with knobs, and adds more functionality (photosensor and displays countdown of cycles) for cheaper!

Good weed to you bro, how often am I going to have to cycle the aeroponics?, the further between cycles, the cooler I can keep the res. My roots will NOT be in the res at any time....hehe...hopefully!

Manifold/nozzles, up through root chamber bottom, there will be a rubber grommett with a copper ring in it, to prevent roots from entering the res.

This is the underside of the cloner lid, grower will have the same pvc to attach the curtain, except there will be another pvc support going across in the middle, which will be between the baskets, unit will accomodate two plants in this configuration.

IF you can now just imagine two net baskets equispaced in that lid that is what it will look like finished. I'm still working on more permanent and cosmetically appealing supports for the root chamber.

I really need some good ideas on how it's going to stay cool for a grow, thanks folks!:thanks:

You add ten gallons of water, 2tsp rooting hormone, your cuts, and BAM! 7 days later, you pump the water out, the aerocloner lid goes away, the aerocloner top now becomes the root chamber, manifold re installed, lid with baskets goes on, plants in medium, fill with nutrient solution and plug it in. I'm going to run it like this once, then I'll add the easy drain feature.....you'll turn a valve with a five gallon bucket under it and it will drain...refill and you're back at it, all internally, it has a cord and a air hose coming out and that's it!

With the "Cool Coil" we were talking about I think you'll do fine. If it chills the solution you might not even have to cycle the timer. On your upcoming aero project how often do you plan on running the pump?

I'm inquiring about cycle times right now. I would reall like something that would fit in the res with a cord comin out....LOL

Re: Mcloadies second grow journal

Good morning everyone, I watered and fed this morning with dr earth liquid concentrate and molasses which had been aerated for two days. I keep a bucket of water aerating all the time, then when I forsee the need to water I mix whatever in it and let it bubble til it's time to apply. Some folks have been discusssing clones and how their environment affects their growth and development. I am also noticing differences in clones due to the area of the plant which the cuttings were taken. These two plants aren't a perfect example as one was supercropped extensively, the other minimally. Anyhow these cuttings are the same age, one taken from upper rapidly growing material, the other from the lowest branch. Plant on the right was taken from upper growing shoots, on the left the lowest ( first ) one.

I had always wondered if where u took the clone from on the plant would make a difference. I usually use lower branches

What I have found is this sir, my lower cuts root faster and grow slower, and the upper cuts root slower and grow faster. I always take cuts from below when I plan on flowering the parent, I take cuts off my mothers from the top. Hope this makes sense, It dosen't to me except the lower cuts are closer to the root system?

Welcome to my journal!:welcome:

Use a five gallon bucket and make an aerocloner....you never have to look at those ugly wilting clones again, they look just like the day you took em til they root! 100% success
