I'd consider some orca film for the diy reflectors.

What's an EFDL bulb?
^^^ This is a EFDL bulb, same technology that is used in induction lighting.

Wow McLoadie, your journal moves fast. I do the same method as you. Go to control panel and work my way up from the bottom. I think your thread is so active, it kept bumping to the top. All caught up on your thread now. Not so much on that list in the CP though.
I used to try and make that list empty, but it's become impossible. I try to go through half the list each day now, and that still takes more time than I should probably spend on here.
How would it make it faster overall? After the water cure, you still have to dry it, and wouldn't it now be even wetter?
I did read some of the threads about WC. My take on it was it can really help if you had bud rot or some other problem, but otherwise I'm not sure I see the advantages. It removes much of the aromatics. This would be a bad thing if your buds are headed to market.
Ya. Those things suck. I gotta get me 3 or 4 of them.
Do you veg with an induction lamp as well? On their site, they suggest you need to use the light through the entire life cycle for maximum benefit.
I'm pretty sold on moving to these rather than LEDs. I will test LEDs too down the road, but it will be far more economical to go to EDFL. This should help me get the second room up and running sooner. I really like that the PAR 420 is equivalent to a 750W HPS since that's what I'm using now. I'll be able to conduct some real apples to apples comparisons! It will be a year probably before I can setup flowering room #2 though. Hopefully EDFL's will get even better by then!
I think I asked this already, but if you're responding to the above, hopefully you won't mind answering again. How large an area do you think a PAR420 covers well? It's very likely I'll be using a mover, but I'd like to know how large the footprint, of good usable light, is at around 18-24". I'm trying to figure out how many I will need. I'll most likely have them end to end on the movers, so can you give the dimensions along each side? I'n sure it throws light much better along it's long side than from the ends. The second flower room is ~10'x12' I think. the mover will move along the 12' axis. So to cover a 10' area, I'm thinking I'll need 3 of these? Hmmm the first flowering room is ~6'x12', so maybe I should get 2 for that room, and put my 3 HPS into the larger room. Assuming I need one of these for veg too, I'll need 3 of them. That's $2400. That might happen within 6 months or so(3rd harvest). LOL I think I just figured out a plan. Thanks for the help there McLoadie
That was a good one. I might have heard it without the weed association, but it certainly helped make it relevant. Made me laugh for sure.
ITS the ones that DONT look like the spiral cfls that you normally buy.....

I am behind and trying to get caught up on your journal, did you post pics of the roots? I know your busy and all, was just wondering cause I'm jazzed that you got the results you were after. I do know one thing when you inspect the cuts and see that they have roots its an awesome feelingMornin kids! Upon inspection this am.........WE HAVE ROOTS! The cuts in the aerocloner are showing nice white roots! They are about a quarter of an inch long...not bumps....Roots! That's 7 days, the same amount of time it takes me in soil, the difference is; no half dead cuts to look at for a week, no cloning compounds, and NO DIRT!
