Thanks man, I thought they turned out well :cheesygrinsmiley: Not nearly as dense as I expected or would like... Some of the dispensaries around here just blow my mind with how dense and big their buds are... It's insane haha. Someday I'll get there.

I would really like to know when Platinum will be re-releasing their new models... I'll have to ask next time I send them an email.
 
Once you solve the more light challenge Max you're going to be one of the better growers. You already are. You've demonstrated a sixth sense for cannabis cultivation. Wait until you get Doc's kit rolling. Wow!

I was talking it over with Dale and the plan is a Platinum450. Why spend the money on something substandard? That would give me two 450s in the tent and should be enough to keep me satisfied for at least another year, when I'm certain I'll decide I need a bigger light. :laughtwo:

My mad money comes in on July 1st. You can bet that a week later I'll have my light. I'm driven now. Just try to slow me down. :cheesygrinsmiley:
 
I've read this whole journal over the last few days. Congratulations on your harvest Max! Looks super tasty! I'm currently veging a couple of liberty hazes, will be my first run in coco/perlite. All my other runs have been top feed hydro. 10 weeks veg, 50L pots and hopefully 2 p300's per plant... Should be interesting!
I look forward to going thru your other journals. Keep up the great work!

last Platinum I ordered was a new P600+,in April.

Wow, thank you so much Sue :Love: That means a lot. I am certainly trying to do everything to the best of my current ability, and it seems to be working alright for now :cheesygrinsmiley: Still have lots of techniques to get dialed in, but I like to think I'm getting the hang of it! More light is definitely an issue I am dealing with. Going to have to re-introduce the Trellis I think!

I agree on the lamp choice. Every time I start to stray away from Platinum someone from the Forum always reminds me of their quality. I really think that is my next step, I have messed with a "lower quality" LED lamp and the results were good, just not what I want. Looks like the "save up a few more weeks" plan has been reenacted :rofl:

I'm excited for both of us Sue :cheesygrinsmiley: I don't think either of us will be able to slow down until our hunger for more light is satisfied! hehe

I don't think the Mars alone will do it since that plant is so large now... Maybe I should investigate an HID system before I get another LED.. but the house is already so damn hot with the grow tent I couldn't imagine how hot an HPS would make it.

Dutty are you dropping hints that you have knowledge of new technology through your connections in the industry? I don't like riddles! :rofl: :rofl:
 
- PURPLE ELEPHANT UPDATE : CURE DAY 1 -​

Hey 420magazine friends!!!!! :cheesygrinsmiley:

So this is a fun update for me. These next two weeks are going to be extremely stressful, as I have my finals coming up on May 11th... Which also happens to be my birthday... Yay me right?!? :rofl: :rofl:

I'll certainly have a reason to celebrate once I finish Physics though... Took a break from studying this morning to put together some pictures for this update :cheesygrinsmiley: So let's get on with it!!!

The Purple Elephant dried in my DIY Dry Box for 4 days, the first day the fan was on, and the RH inside the Box was a constant 30%. Days 2 and 3 it hung around 50%, and dropped to 30% on day 4. The branches all snapped when bent and the buds felt exactly how I wanted them to feel, so I went for the final chop.

I cut all of the buds off into 12 self sealing Mason Jars. The most peculiar thing happened while they were drying, by day 3 in the Dry Box the buds were smelling a lot like grass or hay... And when I jarred her up on day 4 she was smelling really dank... Very odd.

The trim is still in the freezer, turning it into Bubble Hash tomorrow with two of my friends from the forum :cheesygrinsmiley: These buds look KILLER, very happy. Going to let them cure for 2 weeks before I even touch them, the first week I will be burping for 30 minutes once in the morning and then another 30 minutes around 9:00pm. Then for the second week I will burp them once in the morning. Then on day 15 we shall see how it turned out!

DRY WEIGHT : 100.5 grams / 3.58 ounces

Decided to get creative this morning and put together something all of us on 420magazine should have....

a Bud Porn Set.​

Get a piece of Foam-Core board that is big enough to cut three 9" x 9" squares out of.

Then measure out those squares and start cutting! For the most effective cuts, use a flat steel ruler and an X-Acto Knife.

Because I like my models to look as aesthetically pleasing as possible, I measured out a 18" x 9" piece, and then on the backside cut ALMOST all the way through. So that I could bend it up and get a perfect corner. I glued a Balsa Wood dowel in between the two walls for stability.

Personally, my next step was: Take a PHO dab while the glue drys.... Diagonal Propane Hash Oil from Craft 710 Labs.

Got a little too high and forgot to take pictures of every step.... but basically you just glue your third 9" x 9" square to the other two.. And badda-bing badda-boom!

Slide a Paper-Clip into the Foam-Core board to make a nice little bud stand :cheesygrinsmiley:

And there you go! This cost me nothing to build because I have so much Foam-Core laying around for Architecture. But I doubt it would cost more than $10 to get all of this from a Hobby Store. EASILY replicable on a large scale... three 5' x 5' board would make an excellent Plant Staging Area.

I hope you all enjoyed watching this grow. I can't give enough shout-outs to KCMP for giving this girl too me after 4 weeks of Veg. He killed it and I will be forever grateful of his generosity. I am hanging out with him and Subnoise tomorrow to run our trim and smoke a little. So I will have another fun update for you all then!

I stood a regular sized Bic next to two of the larger nugs for a size comparison, the Buds are leaning but whatever, close enough.

Let it go Sue, I would never stop someone's creativity :cheesygrinsmiley: If I've learned one thing in college, its to accept other peoples ideas on how to improve my own techniques. So by all means make a Bud Porn Set that is far better than mine, I would love it :cheesygrinsmiley: And the interchangeable backgrounds.... I was just going to make a little insert out of black card-stock to slide into the one I made, but that idea is much better.

And yes, I am very happy with the amount I pulled off her. I am excited to see how it changes as it cures up... it will take every ounce of strength in me not to sample her at all. Thank you so much for your compliments and encouragement, that alone makes all this worth it.
 
I'm a few harvests away from being able to let it all cure, so you're a better man than I. Dale has some serious needs. Just a while longer. I am hanging on to the top colas from both, no matter what, until he comes home. It's going to level you by then.

I'm at two months and the THC Bomb Auto suddenly went to a distinct pineapple terpene. It's been interesting experiencing the change as the cure progresses. Maybe sample out of a small buds jar (you have JARS of it Max!!!) every now and then.

So proud of you Max. Mostly of the joy you find in doing it so well. It's quite infectious, and should serve you well professionally. :Love:
