Maxxi's - Second Grow - 600W - Tent

So i started the butter at 22:00 im going to let it go for about an hour or so, then put it in a tapaware thing and let cold water run over it to cool it a bit faster then throwing it in the freezer. Then i can start on the baking part of things.

Maxxi,

First, Hempy's are cool. It's passive hydro so as long as you're ok with the ph checking and balancing and having to put in all the nutes, they're cool. Everything I have running right now except the EmGarden and the rescued Dynasty mom I'm flowering are in Hempys. That said, I plan on trying supersoil this winter just to see how it compares, side by side, with a couple months veg.

Water curing takes a week, but yes, it does good for edibles if you want them to taste like the recipe and not strongly of cannabis. I haven't tried the blanching yet that BID and some others are using, but I do plan to try it.

Cannabutter isn't too hard, especially if you use a crockpot/slow cooker. Toss in the butter, about 1lb to 1oz of decent cannabis, more makes it stronger, of course. Put in enough water to cover the butter and the cannabis, if possible by double the volume. Put it on warm and leave for 24 hours, stirring every now and then. Let cool, strain out plant material and put the rest in the fridge until the butter is solid (freezer works faster if you have room). Remove the butter, dump the water. If the butter looks "too green" or "smells too much", toss it back in the slow cooker, fill with water again, cook for about 8 hours, chill, separate and drain and you'll see the butter is lighter and less smelly. Repeat until it meets your standards.

Now that said, with cooking, 3 things to remember:

1) Soy Lecethin is your friend, add a teaspoon to any recipe, it ups the body's ability to absorb cannabinoids, I believe it's a side effect on absorbtion, maybe tweaking the endocannabinoid systems.

2) Chop and decarb your herb, oven, preheat to 220*f, put chopped plant material into a baking bag if you have it, otherwise on parchment paper. Cook for about 10 to 20 minutes... stir about half way though, especially if not using a baking bag. You do NOT want smoulder, you're just forcing THCA and CBDA (and honestly, a lot of the other potential cannabinoids) to convert to their active form.

3) Freeze the plant material afterward, it will make the tricomes release easier.

That's the quickie to cannabutter... the only quicker way that's not absolutely going to ruin a good recipe (and I believe you said you were a chef?) is probably the magic butter machine from our sponsor.

Hope that helps :Namaste:

Maxxi, if you're using the stockpot, keep it at a low warm and covered and stir more often... it's going to take several hours though, just FYI... directions are basically the same... a double boiler is a bit better though, keeps the heat even...

And are you the chef or was that alex? lol

Im not the chef but i love to cook. And last time i made a batch of butter with 4g and just butter for 45 mins and got pretty stoned so an hour should be fine. and yeah i got it on 1 of 9 being the hottest, and its covered and string evry couple mins

Fyi its his bday today so no making butter for couple hours! its 22:37 haha what you on about rune i say that with

Hey Maxxi, save the herb then... you can reuse it to make a second batch if you're only cooking that long... just cook 2 - 3 times longer next time... I've done that when I'm in a hurry ;) Generally speaking, the longer cook time is to get as much as possible. I know some folks just reuse 2 or 3 times in bigger volumes and for longer processing. I've done that, but usually try and preplan because storing once used butter/oil plant matter gets messy, lol. :Namaste:

Nah man its all good, we shall see. i think the next time i will be making this is on my birthday so till then i dont need to keep this :p but thanks for the tip for when i move to somewhere where the law aint so sad :(

I was thinking the same! And like herb butter. With out mj mmmm like garlic parsley Nd some other goodness would make me want to eat breakfast. Or extract further flavors and then bake with that all the taste coming from the butter. But as you said plenty of other functions.

Little update waiting on the butter to harden a bit off.

Thanks Carl, yeah rune id love to get into that. oh man MJ salad hahahaha i would love that. with some lemon and Parmesan add some olive oil aswell. sundried tomiez, nuts, salads, seeds, oh man i so have to make that one of these days... its cool at the organic store here you can buy hemp oil i think im going to give it a go next time i got a spare 12 euros and am low on oil.

I made space in the freezer sides are hard centers still all softish liquid so lids of. 1:21am. This is going to be an entertaining story later today when he comes back from work. Hahhaha.

LOL, yeah... waiting to do defol on that big dynasty as I want to try both juicing and including the chopped leaves in salad. It's supposed to help with inflamatory and nerve issues, as well as general body pain.

You're almost there with it... as long as that butter is solid enough to remove, you're golden. :Namaste:

It poped out tins in the oven, i failed at making the meringue topping as i dont have an electric mixer and i never make those damn things without one as i had to make the cake batter as well with that. so im making an icing instead :yahoo: wait rune you said your going to eat your leaves in a salad? what about nutes and such that youre feeding them or wat? if its against inflammationish stuff im going to start munching on some homegrown salad too.

Edit: We;re also keeping a nice chunk of butter to make other things with :p i threw the rest of the stuff i had in a alo foil and jar and into the freezer

Sweet Maxxi... I use organic nutes and I might water cure them, not sure. The Dynasty mom is in dirt though, so I don't think she'll have the harsh nutey hydro taste. I'll probably only try the salad thing from dirt grows though, because you're right, I don't want *that* taste in my salad, lol. But yeah, I've been seeing a lot of positive research on eating and juicing raw cannabis, especially for inflamatory, neuro and general pain... apparently it can also help with anxiety, depression and some other items as well.
