Max's PC Grow Box Journal - 2013

just caught up, i was gonna do a p/c box but my buddy lent me a space so I used it instead.

Yeah plants will compete with each other for light, nutes , root space, water, everything. I wouldn't put two plants in the same pot unless you absolutely had to, also if one plant gets infected so will the other if its microbial, spores, or soil borne pathogens related. Some plants are more aggressive than others but there isn't much documented marijuana competition studies out there so im not sure exactly how fast/aggressive they are.

Looks good though buddy. LST is great my last grow was looking wonderful with it, definitely gonna do it again and the pipe cleaners are money for that

Also, I bought my 50cfm for 18 dollars at home depot works pretty good for my large (larger than yours) box would definitely have enough power for you and a filter, question is if you want to have stuff sticking out of your box or not. Just an idea
 
A cfm ill have to figure out what that is in my language haha. ill see if they have one tomorrow seeing as im going tomorrow. and as for stuff sticking out i'm sure i can manage a way of getting it in there and making it look slick as i have a space up above. pic below :P

Yeah only down side is some of them make some loud noise, but I'm sure as you saw what you go down in sones & CFMs you go up in price.Go turn your bathroom fan on or just take it out and use it then put it back before you move out haha. However the quieter and more powerful the more expensive and so on, but since your in a small unit id get the smallest quietest one available unless its stupid expensive. Unless...you plan on expanding sometime :D
 
Thanks for the suggestions i'll give it a good look tomorrow. For sure i'll be expanding later but i had the idea suggested by someone that i could sell the case, so i may as well just get a decent one i mean on the first grow the current one i'll be making my moneys worth back 3 fold is what i'm hoping so yeah i want it to be good enough to use another few times. Have a pretty good idea in mind for the next grow with a small adjustment to the case will increase grow size massively! But i don't want to ruin the surprise for anyone yet thats to come in a few months. :D

what i would do man is cut a peice of plexy glass or plastic so it will fit accross and put it right where Budda is chillin, that should, Keepem separated ; P

I did this with a piece of cardboard for the mean time till i get something more solid that i find laying around. :)
 
So update time:

Just came back from the DIY store thing and bought myself a fan pics below of it and where i'm thinking of placing it the side with the flat bit on it will be in the case and will be getting some coffee filters and chucking some active carbon in it to see if it works or not. worth a shot if not i'll make a better one next week. As for finding an adapter for 12v for the pc fan thats drawing air into the case could not get one today. Not sure where to find one considering going to a toy shop and finding a game or something that has a 12v adapter haha. or raiding my stuff and finding something that will work.

This is the top of the pc which hides away the top part where the fans are and where there would be a radiator, thoughts of cutting it?

Let me know what you guys think of where to put it or to switch it with the fan drawing in air and have that the exhaust fan but then keep in mind that that is where the chronic cola will be. been thinking of adding another fan to the front of the case where the red colored cardboard is to draw in air too. Then thered be air coming in from front and back and getting sucked out from the middle of the case.
 
Good news i looked around the flat and found a 12v adapter that i had for a harddrive movie player thing. Seeing as i watch all my movies in my room or we use a usb and hook it to the tv i've chopped the end off and used it for the fan which is running at full rpm now "I :thumb: this!"
 
Shit i didn't know that that was a big no no i thought because the light in the room is so far away that there would be no energy transfer so it be kinda okay. i'm working in sealing the box off on monday with some duct tape. Well shit things you do when you don't know. will this have affected the plants in a large way?

Anyways heres how its looking now with a new sucking thingy and how i made the filter. I can report so far

The worst you will get is a hermaphrodite, which is not ideal, but you can still get some good bud. I dare say you will be okay unless it was a huge hps you had glaring while you were on the pc.

Just aim to keep it dark in there when lights go out and you should be fine.
