I wouldnt suggest a soil grow if you have the means to do a hydro. i dont really see a bennifit for you besides not having to worry so much about nutes.
hydros always make better tasting and more potent smoke and your plant grows faster. a plant that has an 8 week flower period could end up only needing 6-7 weeks with a hydro. i would kill for the nutes and meters and shit. i could set up an aero or hydro but i would burn my plants or neglect them in the nute area cause i could come up with the money for nutes one month and that break me and then i wouldnt have the meters or the money to go get them.

Marijuana tree trunk is pretty close to it. My buddies come over and shart themselves when they see the tree trunk. Clean your lady up the nodes love getting that direct unshaded light.

Yeah I love hydro I am starting to really dial it in and I wish I had a bigger area (4x8) so I could have a nice big 12-16 hydro bucket set up. I have yet to burn my plants nutes wise less is always more. Nutes at half strength or ever 1/4 strength the girls love it either way.

As far as maintenance goes I'm leaning towards using my water chiller with my water farm system converted into a Recirculating Deep Water Culture System or just using the water farms and topping the res off when needed. Of course I'd still check on them for deficiencies and pests. So I don't have to top them off every night and check the PH every AM and every night before I hit the books.

i pruned my lady today, but i left fanleaves on the nodes of the branches that didnt have much growth, would it help them to go ahead and snip those leaves? or should i leave them there untill i see more growth filling in?

I would usually refer to my book the marijuana growers bible but my friend still has it from 2 months ago. I can tell you I usually trim around 15-20% of the fan leaves every 5 or 7 days. I think I read somewhere that it's ok to trim up to 50% of the leaves without stressing or stunting the plant but I can't remember where I read it. Good luck with whatever you do.

I had to drive to Joshua Tree in CA which is 3 hours away from my house to drop off a set of spare keys to my boss who locked his keys in his trunk. After a detour to Morongo Casino I came home to finish a paper but started my daily top off and PH check.

I checked the clones and found a bunch of rooted babies. Sorry for the crappy picture but I was anxious to update.

and yeah i just been trimming as i see shaded areas, and i think i broke a damn top of a branch by accident but it was a small branch so whatever ill just let it do its thing. i tied some shit down also.

Bad news: My ceiling is leaking
Worse news: The apartment manager has to come into my apartment to take care of this problem.
So I have to take the grow equipment down and stuff them into the bathroom and lock that fucker or just hire a 420 friendly contractor to come in and take care of it at my cost.

Thanks for the kind words Pooh. I also like how my grow is shaping up so but I still have to keep an eye on them.

I've decided to get rid of my waterfarm buckets and transfer my girls into 5 gallon deep water culture buckets just like my Diablo OG just no scrog screen but I will vegg them until they are around 18"-22" and flip them and give my girls the most amount of attention and love.

I'll be vegging in my cloning tent 4 buckets with both of my t5's 4 bulbs above them. Hopefully the clones will be gone by then.

sorry about that problem man i feel that shit my heater went out and the landlord came in to fix it and smelled the weed and went right in my room and shit and im like look im here under no papers no legally signed shit so kick me out if you want idc this apartment aint worth the money anyway and she was like ok just keep that smell down somehow. im using cfls hahaha how can i keep the smell down any better than that? lol

but check it out, im thinkin about getting a ufo, since your using one, tell me, would it be ideal for 2 plants? like from seedling to bloom? or just one? and does it put off the purpley red type led or other? cause its in my price range and its not hid. i dont want all the heat on my plant makin the smell intense. thanks bro

Wow, its been like two weeks since my last update. I've been keeping busy with studying for four finals, writing papers and keeping an eye on the girls that i forgot to post any update but here it is.

My scrog screen is as full as I want it and and vegging it a few more days or until I have time to pit up the 600 watt, ducting and inline fan.

Updates:

All 35 cuttings I took from my Diablo OG plant rooted and I am now looking for a 1.75x1.75 flood tray or similarly sized tote to build a DWC container so I can flower them SOG style with the 4 Larry OG/Blue Dream's.

The 4 Larry OG/Blue Dream's are coming along. There is one that is really growing. It's like twice the size of the others.

I've been feeding the Diablo OG General Hydroponics Flora Series Recirculating simple formula at 1400 PPM.

The 4 Larry/BD's get a 400 PPM diet that I am bumping up to 800 this week for the next 3 weeks until I switched them to 12/12. NO training of any sort for these girls just grow and flower.

The clones will be getting a 200 PPM diet of the General Hydroponics Flora Series Recirculating simple formula this week.

I made a 15 gallon deep water culture tote and took 28 of my Diablo clones. They are under my 2 bulb 2 foot T5. 2 inch covers will be coming soon so so water sprays out of light seeps into the tote.

I'm going to veg them for a week or so and then flip them to 12/12 with the UFO or maybe the two 2 foot 4 bulb T5's I'm using to veg the scrog. We'll see what happens.

What's up Pooh thanks for stopping by. My dwc set up took me 1.5 hours to build and around $15 to build. It was a much deserved break from studying and working.

The T5 is at 4" from the top of the plants. I looked on htg.com and found t5 bloom bulbs for $7 each so i might buy 8 of them to do a test run on the clones. This is the last week of finals so I will have some time to dedicate to my girls. Hopefully...

I like doing hydro because it looks cleaner but I am getting annoyed by the sounds the commercial air pumps make. I am going to have to down grade to a dual outlet air pump that isn't loud and whiny like my fiancee. LOL. I just ordered 8 T5 bloom bulbs for $42 delivered off of to use in my 2x2 grow tent. I am anxious to bloom my mini sea of green set up.

see man when it got to that point i would just go to soil and get some black gold soil, bpn and boom you only gotta feed every other watering that way and its easier to grow without any problems.
hydro always looks better and comes out better though if you dont run into a problem along the way.

Finals week is taking a toll on me. 10 days straight of sleeping 3 hours tops and working, studying and writing papers is finally coming to an end.

I hadn't had the chance to calibrate my PH meter and what I thought was 5.7-6.2 was more like 2.7-3.2. YIKES!


Now the girls are back to their normal 5.7-6.2 sweet spot I like to keep them at but the beastie one developed some kind of deficiency. Help me out guys I have no time to trouble shoot and my buddy still has my grow bible.

1400 PPM for the scrog and all four Larry/Blue Dreams.
800 PPM for the clones that have developed a strong root system and are starting to hang into the nutrients.

Last final will be this Saturday morning at 8 AM. It’s a math final so I hope to finish it up and come home to sleep a few hours then throw the 600 watt HPS set up going.

All I need to do it find a place to put the 4 Larry’s since the small tent is now a clone tent. I might have to buy another small tent and set up the T5’s.
