Mars Hydro New Full Spectrum LED Giveaway: SP3000!

Well I had the same issue as Sara with PMing @BooMtoLate and @Jack420 but I did give my thoughts to both @SmokeSara and @BubbleBucketz and I will share the reasons here for my vote as well.

As this competition was to provide someone with the new light in order to showcase a comparison grow between the 2 lights, new and old.

sorry, touch screen and I don’t often get along and posted before I finished

Of all the entries, a few stood out making the decision quite difficult, but here is my criteria and thinking for my decision as I PM’d Sara earlier:

As Sara wants the winner to do a comparative grow between the 250 and 3000, I am using the following as my criteria:

”well known member” tells me they have been here awhile and likely to do the comparison
good, clear pictures
active in the thread and on the forum
has the space to do side by side comparison

as nice a setup as MasterTarzan has and does a nice job of pictures, he’s only been here a few months so I am passing on him

this leaves me looking at Ganjagrandaddy and Mumps as my top picks and leaning towards Ganjagrandady as I see him everywhere, every time I pop in and he has a playful sense of humour and I believe he will do a good job bringing in watchers to help promote the light for Mars.

So I am voting for @Ganjagrandaddy - with special mention going out to @mumps, @Fastass419 and the nearsighted @Mr. Magoo :thumb:

I was too late to volunteer as a judge.

I chose mumps's photo in post #131 for the following reasons:
  • only Mars SP-250 lights in the image;
  • the complete lights are shown;
  • well composed image; and
  • relatively clean grow area.
I suggest that for future contest shots the panel on the left be closed so the shelving behind it is not visible.

Since the fourth judge has been unable to contact, now the other three referees voted for @Ganjagrandaddy , so I announced that the final winner is @Ganjagrandaddy , congratulations:cheer:

I've greatly reduced my participation on this website, and was not aware of your contest. If in the future you need a cheerleader or judge, please contact me.

Damit @SmokeSara I just seen this thread today, 1 day after the cut off...

I guess I couldn't enter anyways, I ain't got any marshydro lights. BUT I do own a rocking Marshydro sweater, love it.

New slogan, If you dont own a marshydro light, it's ok, the sweater will keep ya warm enough. Lol

Anyways, how many SP3000 would ya need in a 3x3? Can you guys build other lights with the 301 samsung chips?

Thanks Sara

From my understanding your tent is a tad too small, the light is the same size as sp250

Thank you so much for this opportunity to compare these lights. I am excited to see what a new one can do when it is replacing such a good light. I will make sure it gets a chance to shine as I know it will and look forward to seeing the extra reds results too. Wow I am excited now.lol
Timing is everything and this could not have been a better time to do it. I am just finishing this current run now with my dark periods being started today. This will give me a good gap to finish the dry and receive the light ready for the next run to start. I wont waste the opportunity here at all and I hope the community and Mars can benefit from seeing the light perform. If there are any parts of the cycle you wish to test particularly or monitor then please let me know and I can include it in the comparison.
Thank you again for this amazing gift and opportunity , I wont let our species down and will hopefully convert many more to our master growing race of MARSIANS .lol

Hahah for me the 3x3 was an upgrade from a 2x2 lmao. Oh well I guess.

I didnt like the new light anyway lol
Thanks to the celt and old salt for the mention, means a lot for a noob
Im happy ganjagrandaddy got the light, well deserved.
Btw i already won finding this comunity, cannot thank you guys enough
Happy growing everybody!
Love that reply heehee. True class right there growmie. Have to agree on the community too. Some great info and sharing that has changed so much of how I grow . Things can only get better mumps, sorry we couldn't share buddy. Peace and blessings

We are an odd looking race who share a need for full spectrum lighting that is great value and produces great results. Mars Hydro answered the intergalactic call and bought us the ever improving sp, ts series of lights. We are gathering slowly now before our eventual take over of the indoor LED growing arena. We are hiding our gathering by using far less electricity than usual and producing very dank and solid nuggets of cannabis fed on perfect light. Keep the secret hidden growmie ;)

Congratulations on the win!

I had to pull back as I was spending too much time here. I've stayed in touch on a few threads. I'm focusing on the extraction of concentrates (rosin), and packaging capsules or suppositories for medicinal use. There are many here who help with growing, but very few who assist with making capsules and suppositories for accurate dosing.
