Hi Sara

Please help, I have a mars 960w 5w series, it's only about 6 weeks old but used for just 3 weeks, when my Bloom switch is on it was Red now its orange, I'm not sure if the same has happened to the growth switch as it's harder to tell but it also doesn't seem as bright, can I fix it, will I have to buy a new one, or is this normal, Please help.
Thanks

:circle-of-love: randy, your are early today, maybe waiting for me.:cheesygrinsmiley:The key words I used is the blue and red effect for plant growth. Here is what I found. It's also just for common plant. :Namaste:
1. the effect of red light. Plant pigments absorb red light and control seed germination, bulb formation, root development, dormant periods and the appearance of fruits and flowers. The fruits and flowers are actually triggered by plant hormones that begin the process. But red light alone, or too much red light in the balance, will cause a plant to become spindly, leggy.
2. the effect of blue light. Light from the blue spectrum promotes the production of chlorophyll. A plant bathed in blue light should have strong stems and thick, green leaves. The carotenoids in plants absorb the blue light and control leaf fall. Blue light is responsible for a plant's growth toward the light and even the amount of water retained by the plant.
Here is the conclusion. Red light should be used in conjunction with blue light, which encourages leafy growth and development. When combined, blue and red light can bring about the greatest degree of healthy growth and flowering. :high-five:
Just found this about blue light and plants

Blue photons do have one very important feature though, and that is they inhibit auxin synthesis. Auxin is a plant hormone that causes elongation, so if you don't want stretchy plants, some blue wavelength light is a must. An important caveat is that auxin and its blue-wavelength-reactive buddies are important for flowering, which is why it makes sense for people switch to a "warmer" color spectrum during flower. The increase in auxin and the decrease in light from switching to 12/12 both explain why a plant grows 2X to 3X in height during the first few weeks of flower.

Hi all, and especially Sara. This is my first post ever in this forum and I just wanted to come here to say I just ordered me one of your 900W/Tent promotions. It will only be my second grow ever, my first grow was with an Apollo while it got me through Veg, it lacked in Flower so I decided to up my light and get me a nice tent while I was at it! I decided to go with Mars Hydro after seeing how hard Sara works to try and help everyone with their lighting needs. Customer service (and price of course) goes a long way with me. Thank you so much for the work you do!

thanks for the advice, Smith. We will take it sincerely. Sean will contact you soon. :high-five:
Hi Sara,
I have repaired the light and put it back into service, so it's no problem.
Having given it some thought, I would like to make a suggestion concerning the LED service kits you send out for repairs to your lights.

In your kits, you supply the whole series of LEDs required to service the faulty area, they are all packed into individual packets and labelled, what would be helpful is if you could supply a location map, although the LEDs are labelled, their position or location on the light is not, with the whites it isn't an issue because they are noticeably different, but with the reds and blues, I for one couldn't tell them apart. Also, some heatsink paste would be a good addition.
In regard to supplying me with some more LEDs that would be awesome as I depleted my stock of both types of white and a couple of blues and reds, the amount of diodes you supply with the kit is more than generous.
Please feel free to contact me directly through email to clarify anything.
My original order number was 100001027, you should be able to get my details from that.
Thanks,
Blacksmith.

:thumb:that's great, Dude, subbed the grow journal.:high-five:
Thanks sara I do have a journal going with my 60×5 light the link is in my signature First Grow - Blue Treacle Auto - Mars Hydro 130W LED - Coco Early days at the moment so not much to see as its mostly seedlings at the moment. The 48×3 reflector on the other hand will probably stay in stralth mode and not be on this page as its not mine. But it arrived safely yesterday and appears to be working fine

:cheertwo: wow, the debut show of Reflector, I will watch. :cheesygrinsmiley: All is within control. Nice job, Uncle.:thumb:
Hi Sara,
Just wanted to let you know that one of the Reflector Series panels that I ordered recently has now made it's debut into the Ganja Grove.

I've switched my lights on time to evening hours to accommodate for the additional watts/heat from the addition of the Reflector but all is working out good so far.
Ambient room temp/RH is being maintained at about 68 to 72 degrees @ 50% RH through the use of an in room air conditioner.
Environmental conditions inside of my tent are averaging about 77 to 79 degrees F at 50% RH with lights on. Life is good! :)

Thanks Ruby for helping me with the order for a couple of Mars II 400w .. can't wait to introduce them to the ladies they'll be shining on .. the girls are in the veg closet at the moment

Thanks Ruby, Sara and Mars-Hydro Namaste

thank you so much for the encouragement, Eagle. It's so sweet. I will have a try. I promise you. :tommy:
Just try it and do not worry about your mistakes. Mistakes are chances to learn what does or does not work. Due to a mistake the antibiotic penicillin was discovered. The light bulb never would have been invented if it were not for mistakes.

:trance: I am wondering how it looks like when it grows up.:hugs:
