Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Dear Pucker, thanks for your sharing with us. grow happy :)
I got my light! It is pretty bright. I don't know how bright but I am drawn to it like a moth. It shall be hung at dawn. Thank you Sara.

Got some chains and hung my 48x3w reflector lamp. My lady just spent her first full 12 hour cycle under the LEDs, my closet temps dropped over 10 degrees over having 9 CFLs all around. Hoping everything continues to progress well, I think I made the right decision whom to get a good light on a budget from!

our website says 440~445w, I think the real draw power will be about 410w. factory never told me this, but I will request a new power draw list from them. then let all of you know the real draw power. thank u .
Hi Sara, just made the payment for an unit too yeaahhh !! (mars 900).
but does the light is drawing as advertised (540w)? I am confused...

(I was looking at this page LG-LED Solutions Limited I don't know if I can post the link here but to correct the specs of the unit i post it)

anyway, pretty happy buying your light, the next 2 weeks til delivery will last longer. lol

I put my Mars II 140x5w on the Killawatt meter last night. I'll check it again today when I'm a bit more capable, but it registered a 298w draw. The website states its power consumption at 325w-335w, so there definitely IS room to get that slight performance boost at the cost of more heat. Albeit, still theoretically much less than an HPS lighting solution. I'm just not sure how much.

Sara,

Curiosity question, what are the laws like in china for growing? I would bet they pretty harsh. Thinking about Jon's less then stellar results with the COB light, what if you all started your own test grows for testing out different spectrums?

And I would suspect it be pretty easy to add different spectrum diodes to the COB array of diodes, why not just use same ratio as other manufacturers or same ratio as your MARS lights?

I wonder if his light was a little to high? My kids borrowed my light meter so it is hard to tell how close to get. I have one about a foot and a half away. I will see what that does. I see my light has a lot of red in it which is what I wanted for flowering.
