Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

yo joe! i know the cobs are good but i love my 5 watt mars2 it has great penetration i notice that the buds all the way down to the dirt are solid no yellowing at all like i usually see with a hid light unless i do alot of defol but these plants pictured above have had very little defol ,lst fimming etc

BID I'm glad you posted how well the Mars light penetrates I have been reluctant to Defol my plants as it stunted them pretty bad. I want to see how well the light I have will penetrate. Now with your post I am confidant I will get good results.

Thanks BID:peace::goodjob::thumb::bravo::high-five::circle-of-love:

Sara / TopLED Rep or anyone with knowledge on this...

This is my first grow and obviously first LED. I would like to know both the optimum and minimum height these newer COB lights should be placed. Does distance matter during different stages of the plant?

As I posted above, I received my COB yesterday. I made a bracket and installed the new COB-LED last night. I also moved my seedlings from my T5 chamber last night to the chamber with the LED. Today will be the first day of being under the LED.

Draxlin,

I just got shipping confirmation of my 6 piece COB light. In that Cola Lee gave me detailed instructions on all that for a 600W-900W LED light. Yours is a bit less, so maybe slightly different. I would just ask them to email you the specs on your light., but here is what they said for mine....

Recommended light above plants for seeding and veg time:
600W~900W----------2.5~3(ft)
Recommended light above plants for flowering time:
600W~900W----------3~3.5(ft)

We suggest Each square meter 400w led (power draw 200w-240w)for veg, 600w led (power draw 300w-360w)for flowering
Best way flowering time use some HPS mix with led, Such as 3LED with one HPS, This will make quality and biggest yields flower.
Note: USE LED feed Less water overall less nutrients... but More cal/mag,plant structure will be different, wider leaves even on sativas plant leaf and stem exposed to light will become purple... this is not a deficiency,3 watts you can get pretty close without burning.
Indoor use only

Lights maximum working time do not over 20hours per day.
Don't use in the dripping water or dripping irrigation place to avoid light damage.
Do not look directly to this light when its working, The lights waves might cause impaired your eyes.

I am wondering why more Cal/Mag?, anyone got a scientific reason why that is?

Hey guys, I purchased the 192x3w panel from topled and am just getting my grow started with it. In the beginning stages, germinating the seeds. I just started a journal using this light, soil and airpots, check it out LoveThyPit's First Grow 2013

For the record I am a Newb and this is my first grow

Their website leaves something to be desired. But if the price is right I want one or two. I want their best flowering one but cannot figure out which that is?
