Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

The SP 250 is growing some super flowers!
I know during the Spannabis, we tested many times of the ppfd, ppl are loving it. so guess the growing result is what they pay back. :yahoo:

I really hope mine arrive this week!
:meditate:

The ladies are ready to stretch out a bit. LoL, they're all huddled under one HPS right now.
Should be, the shipping now is pretty fast. :lot-o-toke: I will keep you updated when tracking number comes out.

I mean extending the life of the diodes.
It is different kind of design now. The diodes each is only less than 1w/pc, and we got hundreds of diodes on it, so together, wattage is nice, while for each diodes, they get less power, and less heat, so longer lifespan. ;)

Hi Sara! Hope your well!

Here’s some updated photos from the plants that were grown in the mars tent under the SP-150

That’s awesome! I’m extremely happy with them and cant wait to grow some photo periods under them and really see what they can do!!
Thank you Dutchman, your satisfaction is our goal. And if you have any advice, let ue know, we will still keep moving on, the spectrum, etc, trying to make it better and better. :D

I mean extending the life of the diodes.

You can always move the SP-250's power supply (driver) out of the grow space. That'll remove a heat source from the light, and it might also help "open up" the fins on that side, which would seem to make it easier for the product to shed heat. And you could always aim a fan at it ;) .

I don't think it's gross power that harms electronics, it's when they're unable to get rid of the heat fast enough. (Heat cycling might also be a factor, but we generally only turn our lights on once per day and off once per day.)

As Sara stated, each individual LED is receiving relatively little power - there's just a whole lot of them, lol. The company appears to have gotten it right in terms of balancing the numbers so that our products do not quickly burn out. However, as always, it seems prudent to monitor temperatures for a while in order to get a baseline, and then to "spot-check" if/when you encounter unusually high temperatures in your grow room. But they should be fine. This is a warranted product, after all, so the company has faith in it.

Thank you T.S. for the thoughtful explaination. :D Yes, we have faith on this item. We have hanging the light and lighting them on 10 hours a day during the Spannabis with other lights together. The heat is not that much as others complains. Might also due to the bigger room. But after all, as long as we use the fan in the tent, the light should work great. Temperature is not a problem too.

Hello everyone, we need your help. :) Found out a way to release the power supply heat more easily!
We can increase the height of the support on the power supply to help with bigger gap between lights and power supply so that the heat can be released more easily! Currently the support is 3mm , we want to increase it to 10mm; However it will influence the package and shipping, so we might take the power supply off before shipping, and when you get the light, you need to install the power supply yourself with your screwdriver, if everyone is willing to do this, we will make change from our next shipment, if not, we will stay with the current ones. :)

Do it. The original configuration is a bit of an engineering gaffe, IMHO.

Thanks T.S. I also think so. :D Hopefully other growers won't mind as well. :)
