Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

:circle-of-love:I'm know all of the growers here are nice person, they are kind to others.:high-five:
Spart, it's funny you say that. I often drop a, "It's not hard to be kind" when I help someone with something, be it at work or in public etc. and people are usually stumped. It's not a reaction they expect when they give thanks.

Good job, Rastas! I say the same and am usually met with the same quizzical look. Hahaha. Kind hands changing the world, one day at a time. It's gratifying.

Peace, Andy.

Oh I can run it in my M-H tent and I'm not worried about the height... I train my girls quite hard and they are kept very low... I like the way the bud sites work better this way but I don't think the actual size of the tent and all the mentioned lights would physically fit....:thedoubletake:...The Blue Cheese I just took out of there was sitting on a 2' stand and my lights were hanging down about a foot and I still had plenty of room so if I take out the stand and strap it to the top of the tent I should have plenty of room between the tops and the light I think... Do I think it is a bit of overkill for this tent... Yepper.. but I don't want to set up the 4' tent right now so am just going to have some fun... Yahoo:....:circle-of-love:

Hey Toutured , I moved the lights into various positions sometimes higher but I found the position in the photo effective to cover the plants at that close distance.

Most who use Vertical lighting use it in the straight ahead position , the coverage is vast as plants tilt their leaves to accept.

The panels are 175w a piece

I add in panels as I need them I was using three panels last week and added the 4th a few days ago when it became available.

I should enter her in the Plant of the month , wtf I will , I missed June I'll try for July

take it easy keep high and happy tourturedsoul !

I was wondering when I'd see someone angle multiple LED panels so that they could give as much illumination as possible to one plant. I would probably have raised them a little more so that I could have increased the angle - but your way is quite obviously working for you, lol.

Nice! How many watts (of illumination), total, are you giving that plant? Around 600 - 650?

Are you entering her in the Plant of the Month contest? You would probably receive a lot of votes.

Hello, i am new to this forum so i dont know if this is the right thread to post this in but i give it a try :thumb:

I am about to start my first ever grow and i have decided to have a 90x90x170 cm Grow tent.

And i want to order Mars Hydro 2 400w LED to this tent but i have a few questions.

Will this Mars hydro 2 400w LED do good in this size tent? Should i pick some of the other LEDs?

On the website it says: Hanging Distance: 24" - 30" (60cm - 76cm) from the top of your canopy
What does that mean, cant i get it closer to the " roof " than 60 cm?

I ask because the height of my tent is 170cm, and the pots is ~20 cm so if i take 170cm - 60cm ( the LED ) - 20cm (pots) i only got 90cm between LED and Pot. And i guess the LED must be a certain distance above the plants.

Do i have the space in my tent for this LED?

I hope you understand what i mean ( not very good at english ) because i really need answers so i can get started :thankyou:

I like your thinking Spart , I am going to hang a Mylar curtain in the future so I can divide the tent up for those times with half a tent in use.

They sell Mylar padded picnic mats that I am thinking about using for their sturdiness as a curtain.

Take it easy hope you get to enjoy these summer , peace !

You got extra Mylar laying around?? Could make a reflecty wall in between the lights that way you're not loosing any side lighting :P Awesome looking plant btw man

If my conversion is right that is about a 3' tent and you should be fine with the Mars II 400... If you can you could also consider going up one size and also be fine but you can hang your light up at the top of your tent and get stands for your plants and raise and lower them as needed... You do need to have enough space between the light and your plants for them to be able to get the full spectrum of light.... As babies I put them under my lights very young but as far away as possible and raise them as they get stronger..... I hope this helps a bit and the gals that work for M-H and run this thread usually show up about 8pm eastern time USA as they are in China and should be sleeping about now... Good luck with your grow...:thumb:....:circle-of-love:

Okay so you think i could take a tent that is 100x100x200cm instead? I was afraid that was too big for Mars ll 400, but then i rather up the size so thank you for your answer :thumb:

What is the optimal space between plant and the light ?

Mars Hydro says: Hanging Distance:
24" - 30" (60cm - 76cm) from the top of your canopy.
Start high, lower inch by inch every 4-5 days your plant(s)will let you know if they like it or not.
Happy for you Bluecheeze!
