Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Im not gonna bother with replying to everyone. if you wanna think I can't grow or wtv thats on you but if i look at the few last post and i see more burnt led so i'd say im not so much exagerating it is basically a standard now and many unexpecting growers are buying these lights without knowing that alot of growers using these lights are having problems at a rate that is unacceptable.

I understand everything breaks down but within a year is a issue thats why most products come with minimum 1 year warranty and most with 5 years.... i understand defects can happen in production and some might require more attention.

But I also understand that problems with these mars light happen way to often. You have to know when a product is just not worth it in the long run.... im pretty sure mars hydro cheerleaders are people who have there lights in repair or just havent had it for a year yet... cause it seems like theres alot of people having problems within a year. so you can bash me all you want but truth is next couple weeks or months you'll be another one on here saying their lights as a problem i seen it happen before and surely will happen again. As for Denise well its hard to believe anything you say. The way you talk sounds like you work there or surely have an interest but its more defensive then genuine.

But anyways I would like to apologize to anyone who took offense to my statement I should of said it another way. Don't get me wrong im always looking for the cheaper alternative. Paying top $$$ don't mean much either then you prolly got ripped off worst. But the research technics I use always helps me find the best product for the best price. but some products are just not worth it and I personally believe mars hydro is one of those. This is my opinion and I wanted to share it thats all.

BTW I've been growing for 10+ years and using leds since 2009/2010 when they first just came out.

and yes that reply was to you....:circle-of-love:

I have never grown with anything but LED but do follow a couple of HPS journals and I know a few growers in Co that grow with HPS and IMO they do grow larger buds... I don't think it is any more potient but from what I can see they do produce larger yields for the most part... that meaning all things equal other than the lights... However, again just IMO it is off set by not having to deal with the major heat issues and replacing of bulbs (well if you don't have to replace leds) I have pulled as much as a qp of a photo girl and there is no doubt that can be topped with HPS but with all things considered... I love my Mars Hydro lights and will continue to use them as long as I grow... I do not have any of the newer models but I have many of thee reflectors and Mars II's... I like my reflectors better... Can't really explain why... I just do... I hope you get things worked out and Sara has been on holiday and should be back this evening I think... something about sweeping graves......:circle-of-love:

What lights do u have the mars 1200 new version with veg/bloom switches??? And also why do u like the reflector series better im asking cuz im thinking of getting the 1200 or the 192 reflector series any info is appreciated!!!

I don't have a really good answer for that question Mike except I like the coverage of my reflectors better... it's not the switches too much cause for the most part I run them with both switches on in veg and in bloom but I think maybe it's the spectrum... they don't get as hot as the Mars II's do and honestly they are simply plug and play... I find with the Mars I do have to deal with more of a heat issue and I have to run my fan and filter... I do not have to with the reflectors... I can put my reflectors alomost on top of my girls if I have to without issue... I have to pay attention to where they are with the Mars... I like the reflector lenses... I feel I get better coverage.... again I think it may just be personal preferrence... I run 2 M-H tents 2'3"x2'3"... In my veg tent I run 2 photo girls usually about a 2 month veg time... and 2 autos and only 1 girl at a time in the bloom tent so with a little defol and LST... I keep my girls low and open for light penetration and they work really well for me... I have been making my own medicine for almost a year now with my own produce and these lights have done a spectacular job for me... Now with all the insults aside... I do not work for or have any affilliation with Mars Hydro other than the fact I have received over 20 lights from Sara so have had a lot of contact with her... She is one of the best customer service folks I have ever dealt with and if given the opportunity to correct any problems... she will..... I wish I had a better answer for ya but that's all I got...:)....:circle-of-love:

Oh and my Mars are the 400's and I have been using them for about 2 years.. so no... they do not have the switches....:circle-of-love:

So u have the 3w instead of the 5w versions of each light sara said they don't make the 3w versions anymore!!! Just trying to see if ppl are saying the new versions have problems or is it mostly the old version with no switches and the 3w chips

I do also have a few of the old model ones they only sell on fleabay and cramazon now... and I much perfer the 300x3w over the 300x5w... the 3w is the one they used to sell on their web site and I honestly think the 5w were only made to compete with the cheapo lights you find on cramazon and such and they replaced their 3w ones which IMO rock... I grew an auto under just 1 of the old model 300w and I pulled something like 3.5 oz off her... I'm good with that... maybe you can get better results with other more expensive options... but this is what I have and they really do work well for me and I am quite happy with my produce....:thumb:....:circle-of-love:

All my Mars II's are 5w... I have a 5w reflector 144 and a 96x5w reflector but the rest are 3w... TBH I can't tell a difference in the 3 or 5w reflector....:circle-of-love:

Ok so you have the mars ii with the switches??? I'm trying to decide on 2 1200s or 2 reflector 192

Qingming Festival (Tomb-sweeping Day)
Year Date of
2016 April 4 April 2 - 4

Qingming Festival (also known as Pure Brightness Festival or Tomb-sweeping Day), which falls on either April 4th or 5th of the gregorian calendar, is one of the Chinese Twenty-four Solar Terms. From that date temperatures begin to rise and rainfall increases, indicating that it is the crucial time for plowing and sowing in the spring. The festival therefore has a close relationship with agriculture. However, it is not only a seasonal symbol; it is also a day of paying respect to the dead, a spring outing, and other activities.

Ok so only the reflector series switched to 5w chips i think I'll try 2 of thier 192 reflectors the 5w are for better penetration into the plant

Yes I prefer the reflectors for the better spread and now with the upgraded chips they have good enough penetration and wattage to grow an amazing plant

I have the 1200 with switches and like it a lot but I always hear the reflector series is better. I want a pro series but might just go with the reflector to save money.

I LOVE my 144x5 but the build of the light feels like it is a better long term investment

My very first LED was a 96x3w reflector and I am still using it... actually it has personal meaning to it cause my fella bought me my first Top Led light which is before they changed their name to Mars Hydro...:yahoo: I am sitting here smoking herb that particular light grew and I love my reflectors and I heavily like my Mars II's...:;):....:circle-of-love:

I am back.:) It's our tradition to visist our relatives who have passed away, clean their places and send them some gifts so they will feel warm underground. :Namaste:
Man we don't even have a tomb sweeping day over here.

:thumb:yes, I will vote for it if there is a vote. Then I can enjoy many holidays throughout the year!:goof: Just thinking of it make me exicting.:ganjamon:
I think in the interest of promoting multiculturalism our government should adopt all world wide holidays ;-)
