Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Hi Sara,

Is Mars Hydro working on other tent sizes? I'm looking in to getting a mother/veg tent and I think 2'x4' is the optimal size. I'm very pleased with the quality of the 3'11" x3'11" tent from you that I recently purchased. I only see 2'3"x2'3" on the website. I don't believe this is enough room for mother/veg. I don't want another square tent for lack of space.

Big question, did twoclouds learn to grow properly with led, there is a learning curve compared to growing with any other kind of light. My first few grows under led were not grate, but they have improved a lot. Under led, nute useage is diff. temps are diff. and so many other things that can keep you from having a good harvest. I find coverage is real close to stated and some growers are getting more coverage than stated. I guess it is all about learning to grow properly with led.:high-five::volcano-smiley:

Dense you are exactly right... I have not ever grown with anything else I can't imagine having to deal with the issues of HPS and all the heat... I would have no idea where to even begin... I do know with LEDs you need to open your girls up and I personally like keeping them low with an even canopy... I have pulled considerably more than a gram per watt on some grows and not even close on others... no different than what I have seen with HPS... a lot of any grow is in the ability of the grower... yes good lights are a major part but without knowledge of what you are doing... the lights aren't going to make a bit of difference....:circle-of-love:

Speaking of leaf surface temp. where does everyone try to keep there temp at in there grow area. I have found mine to be about 82 F is where I get my best growth.:volcano-smiley::high-five:

I like my Temps between 78-82 but my next grow I'm going great to keep it at a 75-78 and see if it's better or worse.

I'm in the middle of my 1st grow now and am already planning for upgrades. My Space Bucket is working (see link below to my grow journal), but it was just an experiment and I have no space limitations so want to go with a 2'x4' tent next time. For lights I was considering the Reflector 144. Seems like it would fit perfectly. Would there be any reason to get 2 Mars II 400 rather than 1 Reflector 144? They both have 5w chips now. 1 Reflector is cheaper than 2 Mars II. Perhaps having 2 Mars II offers more flexibility. I can always supplement with my current 180W LED UFO. I would most likely be doing (full grow from seed) 2 plants in the tent, but maybe 3.

I use 3 of the 144's in a 5x4.5 space I find they have a nice even light distributionand keeps the canopy nice and even. One would be perfect in your tent.
if you feel the need for more you can use your 180. The 144s are very quiet and run nice and cool.
I just finished a flower cycle with them and the results surprised Me I will be starting My 1st grow journal in the next week or so.
Plenty of good advice and folks on this forum. I have learned a great deal from them while adjusting from HPS to LED..
Be Well

:circle-of-love:Hi TwoCloudsUp, yes, you are right. Long ago, we have stated like that, because we thought it was like that. Some other led grow light companies even claims that 300w will replace 1000wHPS. Later, some growers have pointed it out that it can't. Watt for watt, MarsII1200 can only replace 600w HPS. :dreamy:We don't want to lead to more misunderstandings and have changed our description.
It was more than just the overstated coverage area. I believe at the time you guys were advertising "easily replaces 1000 watt hps" for the marsII 1200, saying this was most definitely a lie. You catered your products and marketing to the cannabis community making claims that were not backed by any real testing at all, and just hoped we wouldn't notice when the lights fell short. So now in response to me saying all six of my lights did not perform at all as advertised, you suggest I go ahead and buy a seventh in hopes that it does what you say it will???.....unreal :thedoubletake:

:cheesygrinsmiley:Actually, we are planning to add more tent sizes! The size 2'x4' is only stocked in China. :high-five:
