Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

That's what I was hoping to hear. My light and tent was just ordered.

You won't regret it. I have a Mars tent - very well built and they have metal corners.

I started off with the Mars II 400 in veg, briefly dabbled with HPS as the second light in flower but just couldn't control temps, so I added a Mars II 900. My SCRoG is 2.25' square so I have over 100watts per foot (real watts).

This is 2 weeks of flower

Nice! I was a little worried the 900 wouldn't be big enough on its own. I'm a bit of a overkill with light buff. I was originally gonna do the 1600 in the 4.9×4.9×6.7 tent with 4-5 plants. I had to downsize when reality struck in the form of my bank account lol

It seems Mars Hydro is somewhat conservative in regards to stating coverage area IMO. The Reflector 144 says 2'x4' area but it's closer to a 3-4'x4-5' area for me. I like it so much I bought 2 more 192's today for the flower tent to replace the 1000w HPS. Once they arrive I'll be fully converted from HID to LED for about $1100. That's one 144 in the veg room (7'x7' tent) along with 2 each old style 300's and a 600. The two 192's are going in a 4'x8' flowering tent. So basically I have decreased power use by about 30%. Increased PAR to almost double. Decreased heat by about 1/3. Life is good :)

Thank you Sara and team! :high-five::love:

You won't need much for veg. The girls did very well under the 400 during veg, but I heard they need more for flower. After 6 weeks in veg I'd saved enough to get another :)

My hope is to get a couple good harvests out of this then with the money I save from not buying herb I can grab another light and tent and actually have a flower and a veg tent. Goal being the 1600 for flower

Hi SmokeSara,

I am about to place an order off Mars-Hydro.com and was hoping you could possibly provide me with a coupon code? I have purchased from you before and love your products.

Thanks! :)

Haha, Stoney, you are a good grower. That's why.:Namaste: Since the trichomes are ripe, you can harvest them as scheduled. Or I am afraid that there will be some bad transformation:cheesygrinsmiley:
The trichomes are ripe for the taking but it still has lots of white hairs coming on. It is definitely putting on more weight, but I have made up my mind to take it down on Sat that will give it a full 12 Weeks 3 more weeks then the others lol. The others are so tasty and smell so awesome. I was worried about growing with leds but Mars has come through and proven to me they are great lights .

:party:It's my honor, Dennise!
:passitleft: High Sara... thanks for stopping by the journal... I'm loving my girls this round and the 144x5w reflector is rocking it....:high-five:....:circle-of-love:

:party::party:Knight, every time you show up, you will bring big progress.:thumb: All are looking healthy now! And you are a keen learner:cheesygrinsmiley:
On Day 7 of the 12/12 Light Cycle.
Next two Pics are in 10 Gallon Pots. I water from the bottom of pots so the top soil stays nice and dry.

Clones of the 3 Strains I am growing. 3 Clones from each. Total of 9 Clones. 2 days since I cloned them and no wilting at all. I started the clones off of the Bigger Plants after a week in blooming stage. Now I will revert them back to Veg to grow into bigger plants. Next time I clone I will do it two weeks after blooming, just to see the effects. I saw this on YouTube from Chef Butts I think is his name. He said it will grow stronger, thicker, and kind of weird looking but is well worth it. He showed all the different types of trimming the Veg plants to grow more buds and etc, cloning after blooming and stuff like that.

:circle-of-love:Hi goof, USD500 is enough for the combo of MarsII900 and 4'x4'x6'7" if you are located in US.:Namaste: The coverage of MarsII900 is 3.5'x3.5'. I think it will be enough for three plants.:high-five: Feel free to send me an email for price inquiry.:high-five:
I have commented on here a few times but IV recently realized my budget isn't as large as my eyes. So now I have another question. I plan on buying the 4'—4'—6'7" tent and growing 3 plants in a top feed dwc setup. Will the mars 2 900w work? My budget leaves me with about $500 to spend on the light or lights and tent.

:)that's great! Goof, feel free to show us the set-up when you receive them!:cheer:

Now it's a new start under LED.
Been a little over 7 years since I have grown. Sold all my equipment January 09 right before my first daughter was born. I can't wait to get back into it.

:thanks:Max, thanks for the kind words which our grow tents deserve, haha.:Namaste: I am confident in our grow tent quality.:) 100w/per sqft:hippy: I will keep following.:thumb::love:
