Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Hi Sara,

I received an email from your team that answered the questions I posted. Thank you.

I do have one last question you or the guys maybe able to answer for me. Is there a big difference in the heat produced between a 700 and 900 MarsII ?
The prices your team have given me are not a big difference between the 2 lights so I am trying to decide. In the space I use the 700 will give me more than 50 actual watts per square foot. So the 900 maybe over kill and produce more heat issues than I need.

I just got the Mars ll 1200 for my 3x3 tent I think you want 100 watts a square foot at least so 50 might be weak I would go for the 900 or 1200

I am currently running a 900 in a Mars 2'3"x2'3" tent in a 6x10' closet. I tried venting to the closet but the heat was too much. I had to vent out through the attic. My tent with the 900 vented the way it is, runs about 10 degrees hotter then the room. I try to keep the tent around 84. I hope this helps. :peace:

With a 96x5 over the plant and venting on low I run at about 23c the girl seems happy enough.
I can come up on the venting though but would prefer not to be dealing with a lot of heat for noise reasons
I think the 1200 is a tad overkill for one plant so I'm still undecided between 900/700
Actual wattage per square foot is around 65 give or take on the 700 which I thought we be enough for flowering

Although with the info you have posted Superbloomer I should be able to handle a 900 during the winter

I have my (3) Cree128 running at 90% not 100%. It keeps my 8x10 room about 10 degrees cooler doing that.
And still at 90% my Plant leaves are so dark and rich looking compared to the plant in my front window of my house.
Believe it or not the plant is in the corner of room not under a light and extending about 3 inches above the Led Lights and is still just as dark looking as the rest of the plant. I guess the silver lining of the room reflects the good o rays of Led lights all around the room.

So how far should I keep my Mars ll 1200 from my lovely ladies. They are about 25-27 days old. Plan on flowering when they are at 16 inches

If you have them under LEDs now, put your lights at 24" and you can move it down a little at a time. I usually flower at 16-18". If they are not under LEDs yet, start higher and let them get used to the new light. I would start at 30-36" and move down over a 10 days to 2 weeks a little at a time as they adjust. :peace:

Thanks. They are under a 400 Watt MH. I plan on only using the grow switch only for the rest of veg.

I have just one more question? (Yeah right) when hanging my little mars 60x5 led next to the 1200 in flower should I keep it next to it at the same hight or a little to the side farther down? Hanging it with it I worry about casting a shadow with the 60x5, and do you think the Mars ll 1200 will run my tent cooler than the 400 watt MH/HPS

I would say it depends on your plants. The advantage of having multiple lights is to keep the top of the canopy even. You can set different lights to different heights. I leave my lights at the same height and lift the pots from underneath the level the tops. What ever works for you. :peace:

:circle-of-love: Hi my dearest friends, some have still struggling with the switches...:dreamy: I know most people want to receive MarsII with switches, but apart from US, customers from other countries will still have the possibility of receiving the light without switches.:hugs: It's just a sweet note in case of further misunderstanding. :cheertwo:

Hi SmokeSara. Is the US the biggest market for your lights ?

:circle-of-love: MarsII700 has stocked in UK. We will probably have Christmas discount but I am not sure which light will have it and the exact time... :Namaste: If you want to order, better to order now. At Christams, the stock will probably be short and the delivery may be very slow.:cheesygrinsmiley:
Hi Sara,
Thanks for the reply. I have emailed you back.
Is the 700 in UK stock?
Also, just to be cheeky lol when are you applying the Christmas discount you mentioned as that may change my purchase from a 700 to 900

Bob

:circle-of-love:sorry about this mistake. I have edited it. The dimension of MarsII700 is 39cmX38cmX9cm and that of MarsII900 is 42cmx42cmx10cm.:circle-of-love:
Sorry Sara,

Just noticed something. The 700 and 900 are both showing the same product dimensions on your website 42x42 cm
Is this correct? Are the lights the same physical size?

There are 140pcs leds on MarsII700 and 180pcs leds on MarsII900, so their price isn't of big difference. :cheesygrinsmiley: MarsII700 will be enough for your space with Reflector96. :high-five:

:cheertwo: Hi Stoney, I couldn't wait to see your new light mounted in your tent.:cheesygrinsmiley:

:thanks: thanks for the sweet advice, super~:hugs: Hope you will work it out soon. :high-five:

 so far so good, Catfish, you are a good Knight.:cheesygrinsmiley: Continue to doing better.

:circle-of-love: Stoney, we recommend 12-18 inches above the plants during flower. Based on that, you can adjust the height depending on the response from your plants.

:thumb: thanks, super, your advice is more comprehensive. :Namaste:
