Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Grrrrrrr man the Stems on my #1 White Widow are so thin and stretchy. I can not make out if it's from the light not being strong enough or of its just a pheno of the Crop King seeds white widow? My lights are about 22 inches away from canopy and it is the only one that looks like it can't hold any buds. Is this from the led or just a pheno

Hey I have some experience with crop king WW, I have never gotten a small stem/stems before they're usually pretty thick, though I use HPS.

Yeah. They other 3 have nice stems not like this 1 I will move my light down. This is my first led grow so it's trial and error right now. I hope it just thickens up so it can hold some nice nuggs

on some seed genetics even fem'd seed has various phenos you might have a different plant somewhat so the pix &/or results are not what on the label not to say it's bad thing either
I ran CK before not WW hybrid but did have slightly different shapes & tastes all were great

Ok so I lowered the light to between 18-19 inches. I will look out for bleaching. How long will it take to show up if light is to close? Also thanks so much everyone for the advice.

I could probably find 2-3 examples of her already telling you 18" flowering 24" veg. Do try to search or take notes so you don't repeat the same questions.

Mine is currently at 16".

I looked back like 35 pages and couldn't find her saying anything about flowering. I see about veg. But figured it don't hurt to ask again to be safe, but thanks

I can't claim to be an expert as this is my first grow. Here is my plant just now. This is a 13 day old Painkiller XL under a Mars II 400. She was under the grow only setting at 10" under the light for the first 9 days. I heard the colours don't mix properly that low so I changed the lights to 15" and added the bloom lights too.

She looks like a beauty to me and the nodes are very close. The plant is 2.5" tall and getting her 4th or 5th set of true leaves (the nodes are so close it's hard to count without my glasses on and I don't have prescription sunglasses and never look without eye protection),

Do you feed extra Calcium and Magnesium?

I have a WW, from DinaFem though, that also has quite thin (and purple) stems, unlike the other plants in my tent.
It seemed to need a lot more Ca and especially Mg than the others.

That's a bit harsh. The Mars Hydro thread is thousands of pages long. I've found people on this forum to be very helpful. If the standard answer was "search the site and take notes" then we may as well Google all our answers. The team spirit and help on here has been second to none.

I know your answer wasn't aimed at me, but I felt compelled to point out you're not really entering into the spirit of the community by telling people to go away and search. If everyone did that this site would have no purpose.

I thought his reply was a touch harsh. We should never be afraid to ask questions of our more knowledgable colleagues on here. I've put up a picture of my little beauty, currently 15" under a Mars II 400. Hope this helps.

I was told 30" for seedlings. 24" for veg and 18-12" for flowering on the mars hydro 400 watt. This is straight from my private convo with Sara.

I will keep it at the 18-19 Inches and see how that goes. I'm sure it will be good. Heck it will probably fatten up the stems to

I suspect my plant is so short and bushy (and healthy) because I had the light so close. To stretch it a little I've just gone up to 24". Be careful not to get closer than 15" with a Mars II though - the colours don't mix.

Some strains are like that but you can increase the strength of your plants with air movement and as flowering progresses the stems will also get stronger, as for stretch that also will vary with strain some only stretch 50% or less in flower others will go 300% check for grow reports on the strain you are growing.
Also when your plants are bunched up and fighting for light one will always bust out and try and take over an area your plants look healthy just keep it simple and don't try and over think the situation

Yeah man; like all living things, plants will fight for the things they want and some will just dominate an area.. Light and now pollen is what these ladies are chasing in a crowd.. Some just want it more!
Those plants look great. Maybe a bit of LST or super-cropping just on those stretchy limbs to keep the canopy even..
But yeah, don't stress too much. They look very happy.

So guys I know its not mars hydro related. So hate shield is up. But I ordered from Herbie's. Got a few northern lights autos. Came fast even over the holidays. The free seeds are great strains ATM too btw. Anyways. I soaked them for about 2-4 hours in a shot glass then loaded them into a damp paper towel. Put inside a ziplock and inside a light proof slim box I made. Set it on top of the cable box, don't have a heat pad yet. And all 4 poped and have a little taproot and its been less than 24 hours. I have never had beans point this fast before just wow. Have them in my starter medium should have plants in a few days. Under a marsII 400 and a older 60x5. Going this is going to be fun. Grow journal will start in a few days.
