Marijuana Bill: Trying To Weed Out Federal Regulation

Food for thought.....How can the Federal government or any entity (person, corporation, etc. etc.) for that matter, apply for and be approved for a patent on a chemical compound that is found naturally in a plant? If that is the case what is to stop say Johnson & Johnson from registering a patent for aloe as a skin moisturizer or burn relief agent? And correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that cannabinoids are found in the human body naturally without the use of cannabis just in much lower levels. Kinda like HGH in baseball players. I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere on this site. Anyway :peace: bubble bubble cough

Hey I agree completely. I just found it interesting that the Gov't could come up with the idea to patent a compound found in the human body....

I also find it interesting that they say there is no medical use for cannabis but they patent the compound that is healing, that is found in cannabis.

@nerd, great point; however, news continues to bounce up and down, and lately up.

I see the change. Cannabis is a part of our national dialogue like never before. It is in Puss-n-Boots' "glaucoma" when he was busted for "catnip". It is in presidential debates, and night shows. It is in pipes and bongs on @maz0n.com, or thinly veiled marketing for products that cater to cannabis growth or use. It didn't start with the hippies, but with the science of the medicine.

The foot in the door was medical cannabis.

And with each successive state implementation, we get closer to legalization.

That's right! But what will be the tipping point and how do we push it over the top?

That's the question that plagues my brain and why I get so passionate about it!

@All

If you have any financial means, donate to the ASA. I am going to donate again to help sustain the legal battle that must be fought to eventually win. Opponents can count on "potheads" to be too stoned, stupid and broke to resist.

If you want to win, lose the pot leaf symbol. If you want to win, demonstrate in appearance, behavior and deed that the stereotype is wrong. Obey state law and don't make negative headlines. Don't become a profitable business, and don't think you can have a warehouse with 800 plants and the federal government will look the other way.

If cannabis can really change the world, don't let it change you into a monster. I get disappointed every time some violent crime is committed by a medical cannabis user. It gives us all a black eye.

Peace, love, sustainability, medicine, freedom. All of these can be for the world if we are smarter than our opponents. Work the system, don't "occupy" it and think you're striking a blow for the cause. Help fight the legal battle.
