Maine 4-Season Greenhouse Grow

Had all sorts of grandiose plans to use a Gamma Lid for the 5-gallon drying buckets, but then got lazy and grabbed a cheap lid off the shelf...exacto knife, pencil (in the end it fit so snug I didn't even glue it). The main advantage I see with a Gamma Lid is that I can line the bucket with a mylar bag...but I have seen many people using straight buckets.

I see them selling a similar concept for like $35 (lid only) online...this cost me:$3.75 bucket, $1.50 lid, $3.50 hygrometer....$8.25 :cheesygrinsmiley:

When I want to drool, this is where I come !! Looking good !! I'm envious !! Great idea on the bucket lid !! :nomo: :surf:

I've seen both sides of the discussion....which is why I am also considering just adding a mylar bag insert. I ordered 3.5 gallons because easier to shelf store than 5-gallon ...and still same footprint which is what I wanted. At the minimum using the sealed micro-climate is a cheap and effective option. I am personally getting tired of all the mason jars on the shelf (boo-hoo...first world problems, right? )
It's a problem that I'd like to have !! :surf:

Yeah, I like that pic I shot yesterday...reminds me of an old Japanese tsunami painting....like it wants to eat something!

I'm guessing she isn't in a 25+gallon pot :laughtwo:
No, she's only in a 10 gallon, but thats tricky enough going up and down stairs with it and the colas flopping over everywhere as you move it.

First proper frost of Fall this morning.
Was chilly here this morning......32 degrees.....but it seems like the girls are doing ok with it. I did move the pineapple plants, the lemon tree, and fig tree indoors though. Was definitely not ready for this cold yet!

10-gallon is plenty to carry, especially getting slapped in the face with colas :)

I heard my house creaking last night...getting used to the colder temps...also loaded peanut butter in my mouse traps because now is when they start looking for a winter retreat (and it ain't my basement).

Looking at all the plants today I am guessing the harvest order will be (first to last)

1) Northern Soul
2) Mandala #1
3) White Bhutanese
4) Kalichakra
4) Blueberry/ATF
6) Satori(s)

Mandala makes a point about the Mandala #1 being a mid-late September harvest... but not mine...she still has another week at least. The Bhutanese looks ready today, but I know another week will be worth the wait. Northern Soul is sticky AF, and I am thinking she goes Mon. ATF is stacking hard which is cool to see since I had to harvest her (way too) early last year :(

Satoris looking like end of month.

I love the freedom from electricity bills that outdoor growing gives you but damn it man, I hate being at the mercy of when Mother Nature tells me I am done vs growing inside and paying to be Father Nature....

You need a hoop house....what you spend in 2x winters of power will buy you space (and light) to grow 20x plants a season for years

Check out Ledgewood Farms in NH...where I got mine and he sells most of the ones in my area...rated for heavy winter loads (gothic peak), you can probably get a 14/16x30/40' for under 2k.

Getting GH's ready for a rainy week and I noticed the Northern Soul was looking a little beaten from the cold snap...decided to harvest her in record time...90 minutes to harvest, wash, speed trim and hang ...She was fat.

:headbanger:

She looks like she'll yield! Should be a nice smoke experience!

I still have an sativa lady outside. She had frost a couple times, and still is bulking up. Almost time to harvest, though. Cheers

Yeah, but she's still standing tall! Her trichomes are mostly cloudy, so I'm going to leave her until before the next rain storm. Somewhat experimenting with her to see if she'll go longer and what happens if she does. Cheers

Yeah thats going to have to hold off for a bit.....maybe a year or two. We are having some major work done in the basement thats gonna be pricey and then we are in the process of starting to replace the roof on the house and transitioning into having solar done as well. Finding an extra 2 grand is going to tough when you're dropping 50  . We will get one eventually.....just not sure when.

33F yesterday morning, 62F (and rainy) this morning....like roulette!
Yeah we went from 32 to 66 degrees in a blink of an eye. Looks like we are going to get another week of decent outdoor temps, but seems the rain is picking up to make things interesting.

LOL...been there.

Same here as far as temps...it's the RH that's concerning me though....I just had to pull all the drying harvest back into our root cellar...which smells like I killed a skunk in the house  ...good harvest when you are hanging buds on the outside of an 8-shelf dryer :slide: ...this Northern Soul was my largest yield yet...so damn stinky... burns my eyes when trimming...no idea of the weight but I knew by how long it took to trim..and then the string holding the dryer in the GH snapped  ...it air dried overnight from the wash so that's just wet weight, but plenty :cheesygrinsmiley: ...also got my 3.5 gallons delivered from HD...they are sweet and should fit nicely on the shorter shelves.
