Maine 4-Season Greenhouse Grow

Highya BH,

Nice work with Mandala genetics. Your greenhouse is taking good care of your little girls. I agree with iti, they'll be monsters before harvest! And they look great now. I found a little boy amongst my other little girls. He's about their size. Mine have been in longer, though.
Love the outhouse pics. A great plan you have developed with the bin to empty, and the air flow-thru. I think most people that live in the country have or have used the alternate facilities at one time or another. I've make-shift a facility a couple times, startimg on a new house. It works until a flush is installed. Rambling....
But, you did a great job, and makes a nice finishing touch to your cabin! Good luck with your summer tourist trade, and your ladies! Cheers

Hey Blew,
I'm just trying to catch up on this forum a bit, so I thought I'd pay your journal a little attention. You're grow looks great and I'll try to hang around here for a while to watch it happen. Your cabin looks great too. Looks like it might be a candidate for AirBNB or VRBO. That's what I did with my cabin and that's also why I have not been on this forum much in the last 6 months. Between that project, work and my own garden, I've been too worn down to come here much. Old age is a bitch. Hahahaha! I just don't have the same level of energy I used to have, so something had to go.

Anyway, your stuff looks great.

I hear that....I was pushing hard to get the Cabin done and we finally did and now we have both in full rental mode for the summer ...and yes we use both of those hosting services...I am trying a more relaxed grow this summer split between 3x GH.... usually tend to one GH and the others on separate days, so it seems less of a chore. Plus I am giving them a lot more breathing room so I am not planning on major pruning. Nice to have you here for the ride.....

GH #2 and #3 Update - Plants have started to add foliage and height in the last week and are looking good.

You too Blew. Meat cooking time!
Told my wife how excited I am to throw my meat on her grille... She didn't get it.... my comedy is wasted here.
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Happy Independence Day y'all!
Stay lifted!

Here are those shots you wanted...back flap closed, open with 13-gallon fish tote angled out (normally flush  ), shot straight down from inside...you can see the 1.5" holes I drilled to allow more air to move through there rather than drift into the occupant space...no smell at all.

Thanks for the pics - looks a lot like an outhouse lol.

I did ask didn't I?

You try and keep that tray dry eh?

Our outhouse at our cottage for some weird reason someone installed a rain gutter and downspout goes into the business end. ffs Can imagine the smell some times.

We eat a proper diet so its not bad but not everyone does. Get a bunch of fam up there meh.... muck muck muck, yuk.

Going to change the rain gutter - maybe turn the downspout into an air vent up thru the gutter above the roof. Make another hole for the rain to drain somewhere else. Air vents are key I'm thinking.

Thanks again for the inspiration.

88F ?? Cold front blow thru?? Thats like a summer vacation. lol

All good - at our cottage its been 95F - water temps 80F down do 8ft.

Further west in Ontario. Last year it was 115F in the shade July 1st.

Time to go cottaging.

Plants look GREAT. Gonna get big. Glad you leaving room between plants.
I was reading somewhere yesterday that plants that are touching each other is a stressor... not sure about it tho.

Kinda makes sense - when we hike it the woods there are very few plants touching each other besides ferns and even then they seem to try and keep away from each other for the most part.

It was 58F this morning...I had slippers and wool and flannel on...nice!

I just keep enough pine shavings/compost in there to keep it from puddling. I was going to install a urine diverter but ended up keeping it simple for people that aren't keen on pissing in a funnel. I have plenty of space and fish totes, so I'll just swap it out when the volume looks right. I just had 8x guests in the last week and outhouse smells ok...I added more of the shavings/compost and the next day it was fine. That seems to be the key.

that doesn't make sense to me...

GH #1 update...ideal weather these last few days...sunny, warm days and cool nights. Plants have started to really thrive and I topped most of these a second time just to be safe...I'm trying to keep them under 8' overall (including 18" height of pot) ...climbing a ladder last year was a PIA. I added one more feature this year that I never did before which is to raise the fabric pots for added air pruning and drainage. I had some old trellis laying around so I just laid them out and set the pots on them. I'm going to curt them in half so I can separate the plants a little more as they grow. At GH #2 and #3 I am using similar plus pallets.

Highya BH,

Looks like you're getting a little later start than last year. Your ladies don't seem to need as much veg time as mine. I'm also trying to keep the height manageable. With new strains it's always a challenge. Looks like you have you're hands full with all the new genetics you have. Always interesting as to how much to feed, water, topping, training, etc. for the new girls. Keeps things interesting!! Good luck on your summer grow. Cheers

Highya BH,

My tomatoes are growing 2-3 inches a day in this weather. I can't tell how much with the cannabis ladies, but they do look a little bigger, and a little more lovely each time I visit them! Yeah, this weather is great. Making up for all the crappy rain earlier. Painting on the house today. Almost finished. Yay!! Cheers

GH #2 and #3 update....things are growing suddenly....blueberry, as expected, getting big but the unexpected grower is the White Bhudanese...dog of the bunch is the Fruitylicious, which seemed problematic from the start when she had a twisted stem from seed which I just let sort itself out. She is squat, but growing and since she is feminized I'm just going to watch and maybe trellis her if she needs it. The rest are on autopilot and doing fine. I don't see any males so far, but I'll wait before I swap some of the bullpen ladies into larger pots. Like in GH #1 I topped several of these a second time to keep height reasonable. All of these are water only approximately 2x a week. Enjoying these summer days...
